We purchased a condo and are pivoting into day boating around Sandusky Bay and the islands. The Sabre is going to hit the market soon. If it sells, we will do our best to get there for an afternoon visit. If is is not sold, we'll be there. How's that for a big "maybe"?
If you will have a "former" Sea Ray guy, and long time lurker on this site, we'd like to join the party. We'd love docking with all of you just to stay with the group. That said we are Park Place (Keys) members and if need be can stay there to make room for other Sea Ray's!
Roller,
If you do organize "DSC for dummies", please include me in such a learning session. While I have always set my VHF's up with it, I have never tried to use it finding it intimidating!
Re: Constant Alarm Sounding from Isolated Speaker--Systems Monitor -- 44' Sundancer,
Giving this one a bump. I suggested to the owner of this gorgeous Sea Ray that he post of his issue on this forum as there is such a wealth of information here. Anyone have any thoughts?
Very sorry to read of Tim's passing. Their blog and video clips have helped me pass many long winter evenings. Best wishes to his family and to you Rollercoastr in this tough set of circumstances.
Alex, I thought I saw you leaving the Bay this morning. This shot confirms it as you memorialized our stay. My boat is the flybridge sitting just east of the flag pole. Was a great weekend. You are correct in that the island is just the best after labor day so long as the weather makes for...
Totally Agree!! Just this past Saturday we went out for a night cruise. We were in the Moseley Channel heading into Lake Erie from Sandusky Bay just barely on plane to enjoy the ride. At that time a large yacht overtook us. He was haulin a$$ right at Cedar Point in the same channel...
If I recall correctly, CAT recommends that the valve clearances be reset at 350 hours. Verify that this has been completed. At this age, you should also ensure that the coolant has been flushed and replaced. If it's original, it's overdue. The rest (at least for me) was oil changes, air...
If you lift those boxes out of the floor they will reveal the aft bilge area. This is where your rudder shafts are located. As an aside, there is another bilge pump (that you should ensure is functioning properly). From my recollection, this bilge has an underwater through hull which is where...
Congrats on the new ride. That pewter colored hull is so nice to look at. She does look lonely and wanting for the water while on the hard right now up on top of the hill!!
Steve, this project is on my spring list as the insulation under the top of the genny enclosure is really starting to sag. Can you be more specific as to the adhesive you used? How did you apply it (spray, roller etc)? Does it appear to be working to hold the panels in place so far??
We stayed at both marina's last summer as transients. You have options as they are both great facilities.
We've been to MacRay 3 times in the past 5 years and consistently have had great visits there. The staff is friendly, the facility is huge. The only downside that I could think of is...
I just had my "every 6 mo" checkup at the dermatologist as well. All continues to look good after a scare about 3 years ago. I use SPF 50 all the time and wear a T-shirt and Ball Cap as much as possible so as not to have to go through what GFC is documenting here. Sucks that our favorite past...
