With the phoney surge brakes on these trailers I would never tow a 220 with anything less than a 3/4 ton. I know lots of people do it I'm just not one of them. Even with 4 wheel discs they leave alot to be desired.I live in Montana and we have mountains everywhere.

That thing ought to run great when it's done. The 383 is a great motor.
4 strokes do run in reverse in marine applications, bigger boats with twin screws will have one regular and one will be counter rotation. They do have a different cam shaft and the ignition timing is reversed though.
As far as I know you can't bump one in reverse and have it start though.
