Update.
COVID hit me like a ton of bricks 2 weeks ago. Vaccinations & booster kept me out of the hospital I believe. Only time in my life I've ever felt worse is about 20 years ago when I had a bad case of blood poisoning from a cut on my hand.
Just prior I had the marina mechanic change the...
Backing in is easy now after a few years, however , first year was like watching the Gong Show at times.
Second year I was awarded "Most Improved Backer Upper".
Still, every now & then , the wind catches the bow & I have to pull out & start over.
New T-shirt from the Admiral for Christmas last...
I'll pick up a gauge & check the fuel rail as suggested.
Stalling is pretty random. We had new SeaDek flooring installed Friday & I was down Saturday AM having a look.
Stayed for a couple hours talking with slip neighbours.
Started it 3- 4 times over the 2 hours & it was fine.
Fuel rail hasn't...
Problem still with me.
Out today with the family. Stalled once just after a cold start but restarted easily & ran well on the way out. We were at anchor for a couple hours. Started easily & stalled after a minute. Restarted & ran well on the way home.
Just back from cleaning the throttle body as you suggested. There was a small ridge of carbon around the bore where the blade met the body. Got almost all of it with a can of throttle body cleaner, a tooth brush & some rags.
Started the engine 3 times & let it run a few minutes. All seems good...
Hi all,
I have a 6.2 Mercruiser with DTS & a B3 drive in an '07 260 Sundeck. Raw water cooling with new manifolds & risers last year. We use a non-ethanol fuel. Lots of oil in the crankcase. Engine running just fine, however, occasionally upon start-up it will run 5-10 seconds & cut out. I hear...
Hi,
Believe the nut securing my steering wheel could use a 1/4 turn, sometime before we get it back in the water next Spring. Tilt mechanism feels secure & thinking it's merely the nut holding the wheel on has backed off over time.
Anyone have experience removing the front cover as pictured ...
Hmmmm........
Found a '13 300 SLX just outside Montreal, PQ. Real beauty with a full canvas enclosure & an additional forward set-up like a tent over the bow. Twins & a really nice boat. About a 10 hour drive or a 2 hour flight after a 2 hour drive to the closest airport. Ours was just shutdown...
2 hour drive today to have a look turned into a letdown. Boat has been run hard & put away wet many many times.
Tried to keep an open mind about it saying to myself .........fixable, fixable on all the soft issues as vinyl, door latches, minor corrosion on/around stainless parts. Trim sensor...
My 260 has the swim platform bolted on. The sealant used around the fasteners had become brittle just about the time I bought it used. For the first year we used to trailer it, however, it became such a bear to load at times we opted for a berth. While launching we found the stern & swim...
Hi Kevin,
Ours will be with the arch/ water sport tower. I've found a few pics of the same boat with what must be a custom made camper top. The side shot is the boat we will look at tomorrow.
Hi,
Looking at an '07 270 SLX this weekend to potentially replace our 260 Sundeck.
496 HO, Bravo III, DTS & closed cooling I believe.
Anyone here with this generation boat ever put a camper top on it ?
We get rained on occasionally & would consider spending the $$ if we can find a well made...
Hi,
Anyone know who the OEM manufacturer was for Sea Ray captains chairs in the 2007 model year ?
The foam in a bolster is in bad shape & I'll need to find a replacement piece over the Winter.
Thank You all.
Sold this one a couple years after we started boating. Getting dusty in the garage while we're all out on the water. Mate to the car I had just after high-school. Bought it from my girlfriend at the time. She's now my wife of 35 years & called it a real beast to drive.
Terribly sorry about losing the dog. We went through it a little over 3 years ago with a lab-mix that had reached 16. Waited a little while & sure enough a Golden Retriever puppy found it's way into out family.
Think we'll always have a dog as they offer unconditional friendship.
I had to replace the rear cover over the bilge exhaust fans a couple years ago. Molded/vacuum formed plastic, not fiberglass. " Discontinued" at Sea Ray, however, I was able to source the original manufacturer by a P/N on the underside. Took a Winter of searching & a couple phone calls...
Pair of # 5008 available if anyone needs them. Bought them new last year, no fit. Since found the correct keys for my application.
First reply from someone needing them, I can put them in an envelope & send them Canada Post.
Typically when a GFCI trips it's indicating an issue down-stream. Faulty device plugged in, faulty cord, incorrectly wired outlet etc.. The outlet senses current on both the hot & the neutral. As long as the 2 current values are equal life is good. Should one conductor have a leak to ground it...
