Ironically, your sneaker was the first thought that came to me. IMHO, if the OP is looking to spend a month at a time on his boat, yours is the minimum size I would be considering. A McKinna or a 58 Hatt LRC should be in the mix as well. My 2 cents.

Mine is plugged into the outlet under the cockpit passenger seat. I route it up through the access port for the hatch lift pin release. The cord is plenty long enough.
