    Retrofit AC Thermostat

My 1986 390EC has the original Marine Air AC heat pumps that still have the OEM 3 knob controls. The recent heat wave has me wondering if there is a retrofit wifi AC thermostat that could be controlled via smart phone. WIFI is available on the dock if that matters. Anyone find a way to do this?

86 340 EC sliding door removal

I've been searching forums and can't locate how to remove the 2 piece acrylic sliding door system in order to replace the rollers. I know I've seen it talked about a while back and I thought it was in the "Big Old 340" thread but I can't find it. Anyone know where it is? Want to help a friend...

Should I eliminate the battery isolator?

I may have a failed battery isolator. By their very nature the voltage drop across them from the alternator to the battery is .7 volts which prevents the battery banks from receiving full alternator voltage. I will be testing the isolator diodes in the next couple of days to determine if the...

    Go Fund Me. The WALL

I'm one of those that feel frustrated over the recent chain of events that for one reason or another are preventing government funding for the "WALL". So low and behold a veteran has begun a go fund me page to help build the wall. I put in my $100 for now and the fund has quickly passed the $1...

    1986 390EC Replacement Vacuflush Toilet

OEM toilet needs a new seat and a set of bowl seals. Figured at this point maybe replace the old unit with a new one with an elongated seat. Never have liked the toilet with short bowl anyway. Anyone know what model toilet will fit? Thanks

Fuel burn on one engine vs two

Sunday late afternoon I was returning to our slip in a no wake zone @ 8 mph/1300 rpm and I was curios how the boat would handle on one engine so I pulled back the port throttle to idle and shifted it into neutral. To my surprise the boat did not pull hard to port and only needed a minor wheel...

    390 EC Marine Air replacement

Considering replacing the 16,000 btu salon MarineAir in my salon. It is 27 years old and still works well enough but is very loud and makes sleeping at night difficult sometimes. The 9,000 btu in the guest stateroom works great also and is much quieter. Has anyone replaced one of the older...

390 Ec Engine overhauls with increased HP

The 454350HP Crusaders will be coming out for overhaul in Sept. One developed an internal rap on Sunday, most likely a wrist pin or rod bearing. Anyway are there any CSR members that have had their 454's rebuilt with some extra HP and with what results? The 454's in a 390 are borderline adequate...

    Fuel hoses would you replace?

Install new fuel fill deck fittings on my 1986 390EX. The fill and vent hoses are original and date stamped 1/86. They are marked J1527 fuel and alcohol rated and are not cracked. They are a ***** to remove from the top of the tank with little room to work and will most likely result in much...
