A couple of gallons a week is a lot. Why isn't your bilge pump keeping up with this? You need to pump out as much as you can and then use a wet-dry shop vac to get the rest out. From there you need to start looking for where the water is coming from. Do you know if the water comes in when...
Ya gotta wonder….if the friend helping him is a certified Merc Tech, why doesn’t he know all of the this stuff. Gimbal bearing fully seated, must be in forward gear, hold prop while inserting, move prop to line up splines, etc. Removal and replacement of an Alpha drive may be the easiest drive...
You have one of two issues working against you or even both. One, you do not have the splines on the drive shaft lined up. You should have the drive in 'forward' gear, put a prop on the drive, slide the shaft in, as you meet resistance, grab the prop and turn it until you feel the resistance...
According to the Sea Ray website a lower station was an option in '07. Look here on the last page under "options".

Fast food restaurants are an interesting study, and you see a different type of personnel depending on the region of the country located. Mike, when I lived in California, both Southern and Northern, the workers were mostly Hispanic. They were, for the most part, friendly, respectful, polite...
Therein lies the problem. Be a good customer? Define a good customer. The businesses I managed always were the highest in revenue, profitability and customer satisfaction and retention because I busted my ass and created a culture in my business that realized….we were ONLY there because we...
So, referencing the subject of this thread, we are bouncing around 3 different subjects. The subject of "COVID Customer Service" is what was started. However, Customer Service has been dying for some time now and long before the pandemic.
Prior to retiring 6 years ago I was a Corporate...
A number of years ago on this forum there was a discussion on live aboard boats and Sea Rays specifically. The consensus was that there were really no good live aboard models made by Sea Ray until you started getting into the 50+ foot range….unless you are a minimalist and very single.
I saw...
Roger,
The first question to be asked is, what's wrong with the prop you have? What is it you would like to accomplish with a different prop?
I'm going to go out on a limb and assume you are looking for better performance. If that's the case, I have bad news for you. There is no prop in the...
Respectfully, I don't think you are getting this....
Assuming the conveyor is completely drag free and offers no resistance the plane's wheels.... if the thrust of the engines was increased to the point that resistance (gravity and drag) was overcome enough to move the aircraft, the aircraft...
Look....if you've gone this far you should change/replace everything you can now while the drive is off and apart. Gimbal bearing, bellows, shift cable, etc. as well as other parts, are all wear items. Unless you enjoy doing this job over and over. Remember....there is never time, or money...
Some of you guys are over thinking this. Regardless of the speed of the conveyor or the landing gear, if there isn't enough air moving across the wing surface to generate enough lift to overcome the weight of the aircraft (gravity) and drag on the aircraft, that plane, any plane, will not fly...
Scott, thank you. The pleasure was mine and thanks again for the extras for the boat. My wife and I were just saying the other day that we wished we still had the old 340. She was an awesome boat. Be well.
Thank you Mike. I’ve often felt over the years that you and I had/have a lot in common and could have been friends if we lived near each other. I was born and raised in Seattle so just the PNW connection is a start. Take care.
