We took a little hike a few minutes ago and have a beautiful view of the Columbia Bar.
You can see both the north, and south jetties.
It's looking like a nice day to cross it.
Last summer the starboard impeller fell apart. I got most pieces out, including in the oil cooler.(or is it the power steering cooler)
That engine is running at 4psi at 3900rpm, the port engine has a Harding pump and it's running 11psi.
The starboard engine isn't overheating, but it seems like...
Just wondering if this gasket needs replaced.
Just kidding, was actually wondering how important the original gasket is with the metal grommets on the sides are.
I picked up a t-stat and a gasket at NAPA, and started thinking they must be there for a reason.
This was on the Columbia Bar yesterday.
The guy stole the boat. The Coast Guard trains constantly, we've been staying in that area in October for the past several years and watch them train.
This time is was real.

It looks like two boathouses have burned at the Port of Kennewick, that's next to the Clover Island Yacht Club.
There's not much info yet but they said noone is hurt.
The hose from the head to the tank has a leak where it bends in the bilge. I have searched here and it seems like a common problem.
I have my boat at home right now, and figured this would be a good time to replace it.
I can't figure out where access points are to see if it's tiewrapped along...
I've had NBOA for several years, and without any claims. I received a certified letter today stating they won't be renewing my policy when it's up.
The letter states the underwriting criteria no longer meets the company's revised minimum premium, and/or minimum coverage.
I'm guessing that...
I've been trying to find a replacement impeller for my 2007 Mercruiser 350 mag fresh water cooled. The one that mounts to the block. I'm taking a trip soon to a desolate area, and wanted a spare, just in case.
Anyways, I can't seem to get a definitive part number, even on Mercruiser's website...
I got the short end of the stick this past Friday night with a pretty dark train bridge.
It's was during our local Christmas boat parade, that I was part of.
Anyways, I thought I was way clear of the bridge column, but I was wrong.
Noone got hurt, my wife did take a header into the cabinet...
I had my last day of work yesterday. I get to meet with HR today to turn in my work badge, then I'm officially retired.
I've been a union electrician for 36 years, working the last 13 in maintenance on the Hanford site. It's home to the worlds first nuclear reactor where they made the plutonium...
All the antifreeze I can find had ethanol and propylene glycol in it.
I thought I had read that ethanol is a no no for winterizing engines.
What if that's all I can find?
My wife and daughter are flying into Miami in early December and going to drive to the Keys.
Does anyone have any good places to stay? (Hotel type)
Maybe some can't miss destinations?
We went on a week long camping trip, it was myself, the wife, and my mom on our boat.
A few days into it the toilet wouldn't flush, there wasn't any vacuum.
I have read plenty of threads on here about vacuum flush problems, but had never had any myself.
I really had no clue how the system...
Some friends of ours just built a cabin on the Kenai Peninsula and invited us up for some sockeye salmon fishing.
This is our first time this far into Alaska.
We've been doing pretty well, considering my wife is struggling with a rotator cuff problem.
We're so blessed to have friends show us the...
I need to replace the fuel filler hoses.
I can't get to them to check the size without a ton of work, figured I'd do that when I get the hose.
Does anyone know the size?
From what I can see, it's either 1 1/4" or 1 1/2", buy like I said, I can't get to them to put a tape on them.
We were out on Saturday and the bugs were the worst we've ever had. There must have been thousands of them, literally.
I had some household bug spray that I used, but it didn't last long.
What do you guys use that is effective, and won't harm gelcoat or Sumbrella?
I'm going to replace the shift shaft housing in an alpha one gen two outdrive.
There doesn't seem to be much info out there for this job. I did see one site that it was stated to align the shift shaft forward so the c arm stays in place when removing the shift shaft.
My question is, which way...
I have yet to figure out how to change my tranny fluid. How do you tell how much to put in?
I can't find it anywhere, as well as the type of fluid. I haven't found a definitive answer, and I need to change it.
I found the info, so disregard.
