    Anyone heading to San Juan?

Oh yeah. That zoomed out picture is now very recognizable to me. Spend many a night in there! Depending on winds and next time you are up there, have a look at Matia Island which is directly across from Echo Bay. You can see Matia in your picture. On that island there are two spots; Rolee...

    Anyone heading to San Juan?

Next time! Great pictures and looks just like another day up here in the boaters playground. Glad you were able to spot the spectacular wildlife. I don't recognize the cove in the last picture?

Did you make it up to the islands?

    Anyone heading to San Juan?

We'll be up at Roche this weekend....actually every weekend given that's permanent moorage for us. Headed to Desolation and other point further north for the last two weeks of August. Tom

    Zeus Pods

Disappointed - You should contact Sandydlc on here to name at least one user and is also one of the boating friends of mine I mentioned separately that had some nightmares with their zeus pod reliability. Seems to have sorted things out but do know they were on the verge of calling it quits...

    Anyone with Zeus Pods?

Your experience matters and unfortunately, it isn't a nice one. I think the divorce between Cummins and Mercury added and still adds much to the discussion here. Several of my friends got the "go talk to Mercury" or "go talk to Cummins". One is a Searay owner and the other is Sabre owner like...

    Anyone with Zeus Pods?

Disappointed - Were you meaning to leave a reply? I'm interested in your experience which unfortunately, isn't a good one. I have a few friends with Zeus pods and each have had some unfortunate experiences as well. They each have pods that are 2010-ish vintage.

Anything restricting fuel flow is problematic. Nice work in tracking this one down. Much frustration along the way I’m sure but whoever said boating is always stress and frustration free? Nice going and hope that is your gremlin.

    Anyone with Zeus Pods?

What year is your vessel? I know mercury made some design changes along the way primarily to address sealing issues with earlier version pods among a few other susceptible design issues. I have a 2014 vintage and so far so good. Had one power steering filter leak that I replaced myself with...

Has anyone had a 390 Sundancer hauled by trailer for delivery?

I moved my 2005 390DA from NY to Seattle with Cross Country Boat Transport. All items off the hardtop and it was all plug and play. No cutting. Open array raymarine radar as well. They shrink wrapped it from the rubrail up. Shipped it bow forward. Arrived in Seattle with shrink wrap fully...

Air in fresh water system when tank is half full.

Garden hose would be questionable but your potential to use PEX makes it first class hillbilly.

Air in fresh water system when tank is half full.

You could try "withdrawal tube" or "withdrawal assembly". That definitely is a term in the fuel tank world.

Bajturner - Do you happen to notice excessive crank times at start-up on that port engine? The engine should fire up in 3 to 5 seconds. Longer crank times could point to a bad injector. Rob - I too think it could very well be an injector issue. Somewhat easy to run through the balance of...

I’m sure many real world procedures. What I would recommend is that you change your racor filter elements first...per the procedure outlined in those attachments you posted is fine. However, Run the engines a bit before changing the spin-on fuel filter on the engine. The reason is when...

    Official Cummins QSC-500 Thread

See attached pic. Not the greatest of artwork but in the photo on the right, that is hot turbo air entering the aftercooler to be cooled. That surface of the aftercooler can become saturated with oil/water vapor and collect over time, greatly reducing the ability of the aftercooler to cool the...

I would also take a look at your turbo on the air side (compressor) and then take a look the air side on your aftercooler. Possible something is amiss there and your aftercooler air side is "gunked up" with oil inhibiting air flow to the engine which it of course needs as you try to throttle up.

How old are the batteries and what type? How did you 'check' them?

    Different pitched props

That is an interesting setup (two different prop pitches) to me, but have heard of other boaters with differently pitched props between stbd and port. My understanding is that the overall gear reduction ratios are the same, however, the port engine transmission has an extra gear set to produce...

    Official 390DA Thread

I had to replace the entire thru hull on my genny exhaust when I lost that center flapper. Scoured for just the flapper part but to no avail. I did notice that having it helped a little bit on the noise created by the discharging water and also informed that, depending on where your boat is...

    Servicing AC unit

Curisair does sell a sound shield that fits over the compressor. Not sure if their retrofit kit fits all models though. I installed the sound shield on one of my two units on a 2005 390DA and noticed quite a drop in noise. I found noise to be more prominent while in 'heat' mode versus 'cool'...
