I bought a Zodiac Zoom thinking that the name Zodiac meant Quality. Boy was I mistaken. Just a little over a year after I bought it is had a leak in a seam. I fixed that and then anothe place started to leak. Just over two years (when the warrenty expired) it got more leaks and the transom...
I did contact Zodiac. They offered to pay half the cost of repairs which would probably be as much as the ZOOM cost. The repair station said it was not worth repairing. Others have said that if you fix one problem on the ZOOM, two more occur.
This is what my Zodiac Zoom looks like after 3 years. The warranty was only 2 years. It had only light duty and was garage stored every summer. Used only in Florida in the winter.
Buyer beware!
Randy,
I have been watching the widns and seas in the Gulf Stream. They are looking pretty ominous. This weekend are predicted to be 6 feet or more.
Due you think they will settle down by the third week of May? I know this is an open question, but what has been the past?
WE are planning to leave WPB on May 19th for 10 days in the Abacos. West End, Grand??, Spanish, Green Turtle, Marsh Harbor, and Treasures. Cruising at 20 knots.
Two Sarasota boats, both 48', are planning to leave WPB on May 19th returning May 29th. Stops in West End, Grand, Spanish, Marsh, Treasurer, and Green Turtle, back to Grand and West End.
I'll let youknow how it goes.

I started a Thread about Bromide in the sea strainer to reduce growth in the lines. Does the Bromide hurt the A/C lines or unit?
Everyone says it slows the barnacle growth, but can it hurt the equipment?
I boat in south Florida where the barnacles form very quickly. The sea water lines on the a/c units get clogged with slime or barnacles and the units do not perform. I understand the slime, etc. acts as an insulation and does not allow the sea water to carry the heat away.

I am glad to hear that Beard Marine is sponsorong this thread as my question is related to marine air conditioning. I boat in South Florida where the barnacles grow fast and a coating forms in the lines that acts as an insulation and prevents the water from carrying away the heat. A friend...
