I read your post, went to walmart - and found this one: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Spa-Sensations-8-Memory-Foam-Mattress-Multiple-Sizes/328456448
Is that sorta what you're talking about?
I've been down that road, not a fan. I've been through three mattress toppers and memory foam pads and they get easily shifted, make the bed look like shit, and I'm over it. It's great for a temporary fix, but I want something permanent that I throw sheets on and done.
I want to replace the mattress on my '99 310 DA. I've 'heard' of people buying an inexpensive queen mattress and 'cutting' it.. yes cutting it, to fit the berth. As this sounds pretty self-explanatory, I have no idea how to cut a mattress and have it stay together to not produce a mess. How on...
Can you PLEASE describe how you did this? I inherited a brand new, unused pillow-top queen mattress last week from a friend who was going to throw it away because he didn't need it and was doing garage cleaning. I would LOVE to put this in my boat - how did you accomplish this without destroying...
Apparently it was the solenoid that is used to activate the reversing valve. He said the board was getting power to the solenoid, so he said it must be that. If the board wasn't providing power to the solenoid, then he said it would have been the board, but after replacing the solenoid...
Anyone replace their AC unit & thermostat and found yourself re-doing the mount? I’m looking for ideas to re-do this? I want to make it look good, yet not rip apart my boat in doing so. I’ve attached a pic of how it looks now.
The guy was supposed to come out yesterday, but couldn't make it. I'm meeting him tomorrow morning at 10 am. I will update everyone when we come to a conclusion. He specializes in boat AC repair. I called Dometic direct, and they recommended him for my area. I can't wait to see this bill.
I contacted a few local HVAC guys, and no one will work on a boat. I tried to explain that it's basically the same process how to troubleshoot any heat pump, but they insisted that as company policy - they don't work on boats. I called 3 places. I called dometic and asked if they had any dealers...
I cleaned the strainer last night - it actually wasn't bad at all. No debris, just muck from the river, and brown staining. 30 seconds in the sink with water and cleaner, and it was good as new. I even stuck my hand in there to ensure I wasn't missing anything left behind outside of the...
When the temp gets low, the heat "kicks in" and I can hear the compressor. The temp on the display goes up and down as I set or remove my portable heater in front of it. I think the thermostat is working since it "kicks in", and the cooling happens as I stated earlier in the post.
That means...
This is what it looks like after running the heat (still blowing cold):
Keep in mind, when this randomly started blowing cold.. the heat had been running fine for weeks.. I never switched it to cool, it's been on heat for a while. So if it's the reverse issue, I feel like it would have been...
I have tested that the AC is *working* - when I set a heater at the thermostat, it does blow colder air. I tested this with a thermometer. So, it's really just the heat not working.
I've noticed that there is condensation, then eventually ice on the lines of the unit. This is after running it...
I tapped it - no luck. I can't really tap it good, because my rubber mallet isn't small, and can't really get in there to hit it directly, so I've lightly tapped the parts connecting to it. I tried switching on and off a few times, switching from heat to cool. I even set up a heater near the...
I just researched this, and looked deep in the manual. Searched the whole thing, and it never actually labeled the "reverse valve".. here's a pic of what I have:
This is the "newer" model of the one I have, but it's almost identical.
