Thanks - I ordered the part through the local dealer: $220.

I guess my fantasy about some guy with a massive warehouse stuffed with cheap Sea Ray parts is just that.

Anyone replace the plastic vent covers on the side of their boat? The part is 23 1788403 COVER, T/F 240DA-06 Deck Vent STB ARW. When I got my 2006, the port side was cracked, but intact. Last night while docking in current, the Admiral was a bit enthusiastic and a 5" chunk of plastic is now...

Best of luck to you. My wife and I are enjoying our first season of boating and have really been impressed with the quality of this manufacturer.

I think that it is definitely related to a vent or a small/slow leak where the fill pipe meets the tank or right at the fill hole. In other words the fill pipe should be left empty and some head room left in the tank. I think the leak is forward and the water slowly moves aft to the step. The...

Follow up on wet lower step. It has been bone dry for more than a week after a vigorous wash and rinse of the boat. I think this rules outs outside leaks. There is water in the fresh water tank and I have continued to use the sink in the cockpit. I have not used the sump all summer, so it...

A follow up - washed the boat yesterday and then went out for a 4 hour cruise. Low step was dry 4 hours after washing. I have a busy week so I may not be back to the boat until Saturday, but if the lowest step is still dry, that should rule out leaks in the hatch/windows etc.

I will be checking it this week when I get a chance to spend some time with the boat. It should be all dried by now and then I will wash the boat to see if the water re-appears. I'm guessing it won't which should point toward the fresh water system. I am hoping that keeping the tank less than...

70 hours into my new (to me) 2006 and so far only one issue - occasional water at the lowest step in the cabin. It's source cannot be the sump because I have not used the head sink or shower all summer. Instead, the appearance of water seems related to two events (1) washing the boat or (2)...

Here's a question - what does one do about lightening? Is the 240 grounded? For example, is the metal in the railing, windshield, etc. connected by low resistance wiring to the engine block and ultimately the lower drive? Is the marine antennae also grounded? I don't recall reading anything...

Yikes - sounds lively - good to hear that the boat cold withstand it so well. I've got a lot to learn but am enjoying mine tremendously.

Tom, I cruised past your boat this evening! Funny thing, is that it was before I saw this post. Such a small world. We took advantage of the nice weather and motored over to the Ale House for dinner. I noticed your 240 and we enjoyed your boat name. Glad I could get out for a bit as I will...

Thanks, Tom. Where in the river do you have your slip? The weather has really made getting out difficult. I did wax my boat on Saturday, but I assume that is not most owners idea of fun. I enjoyed it though - still a newbie.

I am a new 240 owner. It is a 2006 and came with the porta-potty with the pump out. I don't plan to overnight on the boat, so this is not a critical issue for me, but it took me awhile to figure out just what I had and some of the pros and cons. As I understand it - the porta-potty with the...

Used boat - it already has "character" scratches - in fact I need to buff and wax the dang thing.

Don't you know that you never question the size of another man's fenders? Seriously, the boat is dry stacked so that it is not in a slip for very long. Further, this is a no wake river and there is no potential for waves, so it is a pretty static environment. Where I would tie up elsewhere is...
