I used Menzerma polish with a porter cable polisher today. Amazing difference. The yellow was a bit faded and the white where the cover is compared to the rest was cloudy and beige. Looks amazing. Finished off with a coat of Meguires Flagship. Looks new. 6 hours of work, including conditioning...
As a follow up to my last post, here is the chart for my exact boat and power plant. Still accurate. If you find a test of yours there should be a similar stats.
That doesn't sound bad to me. Through crude measurements I have been averaging around 5GPH with my 4.3. With 2 feet more and 2 more cylinders yours doesn't sound bad. Granted, my mileage is a ton of towing as well as blasting up the lake at WOT here and there. Look around on sites, and maybe...
On a smaller boat that is a tough call. If there is room on the other side to distribute weight evenly that is ok. You don't need to huge deep cycle batteries either. Use your main battery most of the time and the other while you are beached with the radio on. Shouldn't need crazy CCA for your...
Looked at it close. Didn't see any arching. Bought the new cap/rotor at the dealership for $100 which wasn't terrible. Threw it on and running like new. The cap was pretty bad underneath. Back to normal and all good. I will do the plugs and wires off season when she is out of the water. The...
Very cool. Been to the base in Groten many times and took the kiddos on the sub at the Intrepid earlier this year. If you are every driving back up north and want to stop in NJ, you are more than welcome to install all kinds of goodies on my boat!
Well...looks some some of the mod money will have to go to a tune up now lol. She is hesitating at anything past 3/4 throttle the last couple days. Won't get past 35 or so either. I'm thinking the wires are shot. I took a couple off the top today and they did have a bit of moisture in them. Any...
Had the boat out all day today, and towards the end she didn't seem to be running as strong. No big issues, but just didn't seem to have the oomph or the upper end this evening. Might have just been chop and a a heavier load than normal, but just felt a bit off and was topping out at like 35 or...
Does the temp rise over 3k when the alarm hits and goes down when you drop speed? If you are sure it isn't the over rev alarm as you disconnected the sensor and it went away, that is tricky. Does it matter on trim position? Stock exhaust? If the prop isn't engaged and you rev does it do that...
So tested mine out a bit. In fairly light chop I was wot yesterday at just a touch over 4k and around 45. Now I'm wondering if I'm missing out on another 800 rpm or so, or if the tach isn't accurate. Speed was GPS.
Wow... looks AMAZING! Now that you opened a can of worms for me digging for info on you, tell me about what you did. I'm looking to do something like that on the interior, and trying to find a good LED option. I wasn't sure of strips, rounds, etc. Also, did you already have the 4 speaker...
I'm still looking. My OEM covers say "Great Lakes Boat Top" on the snaps, so I'm wondering if they were the supplier too for the full cover. I have a message into that to see if the ones they are selling have the vents and all the other good stuff the OEM one does.
I will check this weekend too. Went for a quick cruise tonight but didn't pay attention. I think WOT I'm around 5K on the tach. Trim about midway I'm showing 50 on the GPS (and somewhere between 5 and 60 on the speedo lol). I have the 4.3 MPI with a 19 Vengeance.
Sounds like the Sea Ray one might be the smartest option. I will have to price some out and see. I thought the OEM was Sunbrella though, so I am a bit confused about that part.
Anyone ever deal with these folks? They say the company is the OEM manufacturer for the tops. Their Sunbrella one is "exact fit" and is $579 shipped and no tax. I will see what dealers get too, but wanted to see if this company and product is legit. 10 year warranty too...
