    Official 370 Sundancer thread

Since I'm here asking another question, I'll weigh in on this because I have had these same issues. Indeed, the capacitor will create the no ac without load problem you describe. I troubleshot that one for a while, but when I replaced the capacitors, I was back up and running. (unfortunately...

    Official 370 Sundancer thread

Asking this question for a friend of mine who just purchased a '98 370DA and wants to find the Owners Manual. Neither of us could find one listed on the Sea Ray site. Actually only really need a copy of the dimensions page (the one which shows the water lines, arch, antennas, etc) which is...

    Uneven Fuel Burn

One thing to keep in mind is that smartcraft uses a fuel usage algorithm/RPM from the computer rather than a fuel flow sensor. Not saying that the PCMs could or should be outputting different values per RPM, but they may be. As said before, take careful fill and refill data and see if it you...

    Transom leak

You may want to ask specifically if there is any plywood behind the drive backing plate. They should be able to say definitively. If they say no, then that would be much better news.

    Valve Cover Install

They will be compressed and damaged and will not be able to be reinstalled. I have always replaced them every time I disassemble and reassemble.

    Valve Cover Install

I don't know if you have to remove the elbows for access, but if you do and the gaskets are the graphite type, you will need to replace them, I am fairly certain.

    Transom leak

I would reach out to Sea Ray (865-971-6250) and ask specifically about what if any coring is used in your hull. I would be surprised if there was wood coring in the structural transom, but often, there is a a plywood backer glassed in to the backside of the transom for equipment and swim...

1989 Mercruiser 5.7 Water Temp Sending Unit

Certainly check the grounds, but the gauges may be bad or going bad. Tachs are notorious for eventually jumping around when they age. Since you have twins, try swapping them to the other engine and see if that helps.

    Official 380 Thread

That's the fridge I used. Biggest one that I could find to fit space. Like Chris-380, I ran the wire down and across engine compartment firewall and up and around back to the panel in cabin. I upgraded the breaker to accommodate both refrigerators, like Sea Ray did when factory fridge was...

trim tab issues. 2005 sea ray 280 sundancer

That's a good point. I suppose my Sea Rays were and are older and did not have an EIM. Might someone be able to refer to the wiring diagrams in the owners manual to track down the appropriate wire colors?

trim tab issues. 2005 sea ray 280 sundancer

Now that you have located the trim tab pump, you should follow the troubleshooting guide as shown earlier in this thread.

trim tab issues. 2005 sea ray 280 sundancer

Not a problem! Take a look at the dash panel and make sure that you identify the trim tab control switch. Maybe take a photo of it too. The outdrive trim controls are probably on the throttle/drive shift control (thumb switch?), but also verify that. Also, I just verified that there is only...

trim tab issues. 2005 sea ray 280 sundancer

Ok, I'm fairly certain there are two separate systems and that the trim tabs are not running off the outdrive trim pumps, though I could be wrong. If you can see the transom you will see a couple of plastic hoses that run to a pump mounted to on the transom. The trim tab pump is a squarish...

trim tab issues. 2005 sea ray 280 sundancer

Do you have sterndrives? That's a photo of your outdrive hydraulic trim pump. Not sure that also runs your trim tabs... Have you been referring to trim TABS or OUTDRIVE trim?

Are you sure it's a Bennett system? Can you post some photos of pump and control switch?

trim tab issues. 2005 sea ray 280 sundancer

Also read this post from another forum. The answer is from Tom Mcgow from Bennett marine. Seems to have quite a bit of information in it. https://www.bandofboaters.com/forum/technical-forums/performance-handling/13546-bennett-v351-help

By the way, if you still have problems, Bennett has a really good technical support dept, at least in my opinion. 954-427-1400
