Take out block drain plugs one at a time and run engine at varying speeds while in the slip. I would do it for short periods and then let motor cool off. Take t stat out and run around, at wot. Those two methods worked for me, but it took a few months to finally get it out of there.

Hopefully you guys don't beat me up too much for asking a question on a non - Sea Ray boat, but I just can't think of a place that has more knowledgeable folks than CSR. Didn't think we would find ourselves in a situation where we are buying something other than Sundancer, but we came a cross a...
The real pain will come to the owners of these engineering marvels when they decide to sell. I truly feel for them. We are in the market for a 2007 to 2009 Sundancer and I was just thinking about this today. I probably would not buy a boat with pods even if it was discounted $100,000.
Do you have any more info on the replaceable pucks? All the research I've done led me to believe that they only fix was to take the top deck off and separate the transmission from the engine.
That's awesome to hear they're such nice people. I read up on him after the broker I was with told me his story last weekend. Fascinating! Started with one bulldozer and $30K loan.
I was just in San Diego last Sat and saw this thing sitting in San Diego bay. It's truly a one of a kind work of art vessel.

Crazy! How in the world does this happen in the open ocean?
PlayDate, curious if you have made any progress on the material order. We've looked at probably five boats from 2007, 2008, and 2009 and every single one has the delamination issue. There is most certainly demand for the material. All the boats we looked at had the high gloss dark cherry.
My thoughts exactly. I bet Brunswick discontinues Zeus right along the Sea Ray 40'+ boats. I dont understand how they thought it was a good idea to put this power package on almost every boat starting 2008. It added something like 130K to cost and made many boats too expensive, which probably...
So sounds like it's definitely not trans fluid if it takes motor oil? That's a relief I would think at least from any long term damage concerns. I'm kind of just thinking along the lines if trans was low on oil and PO ran it that way, it might shorten its life. I'm kicking myself for not...
We looked at another 48DA today and I noticed what looks like Merc gear lube in the bilge. It was under engine coupler and the transmission. Is that what ZF transmission takes for fluid?
Seller's broker says owners are very meticulous about maintenance. Boat looks very clean cosmetically, but...
My hesitation is in how it was treated for the first two years. I am very gentle on all my equipment. I don't like to run it hard. I like to let engine warm up before I run anything. I don't know if my approach is smart or just my OCD, but when I think of demo boats, I picture someone turning it...
What do you guys think of boats that started out as demo boats. Would you consider buying one? We came across a 2008 that was a demo for 2 yrs before someone bought her.
I dont know why I didn't think about checking the rule book first, but your point made me realize I should rely on what marina's written policy is rather than what the harbor master told me verbally. Turns out harbor master was wrong. They were telling me 51' max, rule book says 54' is max. That...
Well I just went and looked at one and measured it. The anchor chute and the anchor add about 24 in. Measuring from center of the swim platform with the anchor I got 52 ft 10 in. So it sounds like Sea Ray's diagram is pretty accurate, which is a problem for my slip I think. I believe they define...
Thanks Andrew. I'm kicking myself in the ars for not measuring the one I just looked at while driving through nor Cal a few days ago. Even had the measuring tape, but totally spaced on it. If anyone knows 100%, I would appreciate it. Sending signed lease to the marina tomorrow with the check.
