Off topic of the generator discussion. Looking to see what prop size and 3 or 4 blade combo works best for the 1995 370 sundancer. My engines are re manufactured long blocks (Gen 5 with roller cam) built to 310hp specs. Running 18 x 21 (3) blades now (Nibral), Cruise at 3200rpm is 16knt. /...
RWS, sold my 1989 Trojan 10 Meter mid-cabin (big block gassers) in (1) day after talking with a local broker to list it. Couple that bought it used military bonus money and home equity loan to buy it.
I have been a member for years on Trojan boat forum and have followed all that you have done to...
Motors are most likely rated at 330 HP. Purchased long blocks last year and built them (Gen 5 roller cam) with Edlebrock carbs and are now FWC. Old Jasper's remans last owner installed in 2002 were done (salt water cooled). Had her up to 3800rpm and turned around 24 knots.
Question about props.
1995 370 with 7.4 engines running 18 x 21 props (3 blade). Going to send out this winter to get them checked and tuned up. What are you all running for props?
I don't really run above 3200rpm as that feels like the best cruise speed (19 knots).
1995 370 AC water pump locked up. No label or model to be found on the unit, found a Dometic pump that physically matched and is listed at 450gpm flow. Seems to work fine just unsure if that gpm is correct, (2) systems run off the one pump (5k btu aft & 12k btu forward).
Anyone know how the port side cup holders are mounted at the dash ?
Is it just secured with caulk ?
Looking to do something different as the existing are too small and drinks spill.
I went to a local engine builder this past winter for mine. He had a donor 7.4 gen 6 from a 1 ton truck with low miles. Cleaned up cylinders and built me a nice roller cam engine complete for $4100.00.
I pulled out and installed myself, runs great. May do the starboard this winter.
Having owned a Trojan 10 meter MC (1989) for 6 years I can say they where built like battleships when they came out of Lancaster PA. The wide beam and wide chines made for a very comfortable ride in all sea conditions. Downside was due to that wide beam and heavy weight she was a thirsty boat...
Looking for a canvas shop around the Mid-Atlantic region that can clean and reseal my canvas for my 370DA. I scrubbed so much last season due to the rainy summer that the waterproofing is not that great. Yes I did retreat with a 303 spray but would like to get it deep cleaned and done right. I...
Glenn, sorry haven't logged on in awhile. On occasion the engine room would have condensation built up, mainly due to the humidity here in Maryland. Will be a good winter project to think about for me to get better air changes in the engine room.
Had a Trojan International for 6 years that I...
They announced that they are opening 13 gates on the Conowingo dam today and more over the weekend for the expected rains. Be prepared for more debris !
The water would be from a leaking portlight gasket. Same thing happened on my 370 sundancer. Noticed outlet had rust stains, removed only to find it was totally gone on back side. Very bad choice for location, decided to relocate the outlet into the cabinet above, installed a blank plate over...
Was just a question of curiosity on the ventilation. As for mold, mid-Atlantic humidity will get you everytime. She is definitely not a dock queen as we are out every weekend. Engine hours on rebuilds are approx. 1570hrs. so she runs :)
Cliff, just thinking that more frequent air changes with better ventilation would serve the engines better. Slightly cooler ER and better mold control.
