    Macerator install

So I ordered a pump this morning and I think I'll start out by trying to pump it out while it's on the trailer. I need to empty now before winterizing it so I'll decide later if I want to do something different. Ingot a pump that can tolerate running dry and claims to be self priming. I was...

    Macerator install

Thanks for the links. Great read and very clever idea. Makes a lot of sense. You've got me thinking. I keep my boat at our camp and it has its own septic system with easy access to the plumbing under the building. I could easily install a clean out or something along those lines to hook up to...

    Macerator install

For those of you that said valve was on the bottom, do you mean through the bottom of the boat or through the transom? Lazy Daze: I've thought of a couple of ways I could do something like that as I'm sure I'll have the boat out of the water a couple of times a season. I'd like to hear your idea?

    Macerator install

I've read that the valve has to be locked or zip tied so it can't be easily opened. For those of you that have a factory installed pump where is the through hull typically located?

    Macerator install

I am now boating on the east coast in coastal waters. I can get out far enough to legally dump. My wife isn't crazy about it but putting the whole thing in to perspective... I don't see the little bit we're going to dump having much negative impact in our area. My current setup has the line...

    Macerator install

Hi, I bought a 1997 250 sundancer this summer from Ontario and towed home to the east coast. Boat was originally sold inland so no macerator, just a vacuflush head going to the holding tank then to the pump out fitting on the deck. The area that we boat has some great places to stop and visit...

    Slow leak!

This was a huge PITA! And probably added a couple of hours to the project. My original hose was actually in really nice shape and I contemplated leaving it but I'm glad I replaced it in the end. When I took it apart at the transom end i could see the potential for problems. Especially in salt...

Does anyone have the original table they couple possibly measure for me? Thanks

    Bellows help!

Mine actually popped out of place a couple of times as i was trying to install the drive. If I backed out the drive to try to align it better it would sometimes catch that ring. It all worked out in the end. Haven't put her in the water yet though. Fingers are crossed. I have a lot of time in to...

    Bellows help!

Hi Everyone, I've been working through a complete transom service. Replacing all the Bellows, shift cable, senders, water hose.... Getting close to the end and have run in to something I wasn't expecting. I attached the u joint bellows to the transom and then pulled it through the bellhousing...

    OFFICIAL 250 DANCER THREAD

Oh! I see now. That makes sense. Thanks for the pictures. I'll have to find some kind of replacement as my clips must have broken off. There's nothing but the rivet left.

    OFFICIAL 250 DANCER THREAD

I need help with a couple of silly questions. Does anyone know the dimensions of the factory cockpit table and also, I'm trying to understand how the screen is supposed to attach to the skylight in the cabin. There are 4 rivet looking things on the frame but I'm thinking I'm missing something...

    Slow leak!

I got everything apart and it went pretty good. Until I got to the water inlet hose. No problem taking the plastic retainer out but from what I can figure from the kit I bought, there is an update to how the hose connects to the transom and I have to take it apart from the engine side and that...

    4 blade prop on 97 250DA

Thanks for the reply. From what I've read so far my boat and our riding style is a good fit for a 4 blade prop. I just have to figure out what to try. I'm thinking the factory prop on my boat is a 17.5 x 23. I found one 4 blade that's a 18.25 x 20. From what I've read that sounds like it makes...

    4 blade prop on 97 250DA

Well does anyone know what the specs are for the stock prop on a 97 250? Mine has no real markings on it. Diameter appears to be 17" but not sure of the pitch.

    4 blade prop on 97 250DA

I'm looking for some advice from anyone already using a 4 blade prop on their 250's. Mine is a 1997 with a 5.7L mated to a bravo 2. Seems to work good considering it's size but I read a lot of positive comments around swapping to a 4 blade prop on these cruisers. I've been mostly staying in the...

    Slow leak!

I plan on doing all of that as well as the water inlet hose and drive oil hose. Also going to replace the shift cable even though it seems perfectly fine. I don't think any of this has been done yet and it's a 1997 so I'm hoping if I do it all now I'll be off the hook for a few years.

    Slow leak!

Took my boat out today and pulled the drive. Driveshaft bellows was full of water. Likely the drive came out easy. I greased the joints right away and squeezed out any water that got in the joints. I couldn't feel or see a tear but there has to be one there. Going to start shopping for parts...

    Slow leak!

Yes, you're right! Going to take it out today. Did some reading yesterday and I'm just going to replace everything while I have it out. The extra cost really sucks but it will pay off in the long run. I'm thinking I'll do the shift cable too. Going to use own parts.

    Slow leak!

Hi Everyone, It's my first week with my new to me 1997 250DA. We love our new boat but i noticed that it's taking on a bit of water now. Wasn't the first day we used it but now the bildge pump is coming on every 50 mins and runs for about 20 seconds. I Moore my boat so I have to address this or...
