Figured it out today. The check valve on the forward emergency pump was bad. Water entered through the discharge through hull fitting past the Whale Check Valve.
Going to replace them all.
We are cruising the Chesapeake this week and for the first time water is getting into the forward bilge under the vip bunk. It is not coming from the sump box and don’t see any plumbing leaks.
Has anyone had this happen and if so what was the fix.
I would like to thank everyone that contributed to this replacement option for the system monitor. My original unit was inoperable the last couple years and I felt like I was living dangerously not having it so I made it a priority to complete this mod over the winter.
Last week we took. the...
Here is the part number for the 28’ cable for starboard. You need the 26’ version for port.
Thanks for the interest in Defender. The current replacement for that part number is our item number 302021633-28 selling for $63.99 each plus the shipping and tax (where applicable). Here is a link to...
Just pulled my aftercoolers. Both of them are coated in oil.
Had them off and cleaned 5 years ago and don’t remember them being this bad. Any input on what could be causing this?
Went to check on the boat today and discovered the float switch for the forward engine room bilge pump was not operational. After troubleshooting I discovered the wire that supplies constant power to the float switch only has 10v. Spent a while trying to trace it but had no luck. All batteries...
A friend of mine needs to source two turbochargers for his Cat 3208. Local Cat dealer says they are no longer available.
I remember past threads where someone mentioned the OEM manufacturer for the turbos and that they could be sourced from other suppliers.
Anyone have an idea where to look?
Has anyone been successful in upgrading from system with the boat outline and red lights to the newer style led display reference in the first post? I have seen the thread about converting to Maretron but if I can do the swap without all the reengineering it is worth the extra cost of the Sea...
I have used the Interior Guys in Midlothian for work in the past. They did good work and were more reasonable than the marine upholstery shops in Deltaville.
Heading to the Show Friday and Saturday. This will be my first Flibs.
Any advice on where to park and how to attack the show? Not interested in seeing super yachts. Just boats motor yachts in the 50’ range and all the vendors. We are staying in Del Ray.
This is my home dock highlighted in red. There are no pilings on either side of the slip to pivot on and current and wind frequently push us toward the boat next to us. Our Sedan Bridge has no bow thruster.
I have docked boats at marinas up and down the east coast and this is by far the most...
