Greetings folks - I started this thread 6 years ago but haven't been too active lately. I do still have my 19SPX though and have a question:
The 'graphics' on the boat have gotten pretty dinged up and faded through the years. I'm thinking I'd like to have them removed and replaced with...
Nice work! Hard to believe this is so overlooked in the design of that bench seat. Another option that would work for this purpose is the King Starlite board which is a little cheaper than the Starboard. I still need to redo mine, although believe it or not the version I built from MDF is...
Another quick fix:
The elastic strap on my swim platform ladder broke last season as you can see here.
I just ordered some 3/16" paracord from amazon to replace it. Hopefully it's the correct stuff. I'll let you know...
Howdy all - thought I'd try to get some dialogue going again here.
Anyone how I would go about getting ahold of this steering wheel? This is on a SPX190 in the Netherlands. It's a lot nicer than the one that came on my 2016 19SPX.
Thanks!
Yes I use my phone as a source, and have run a USB cable from the head unit to the dash where the phone is mounted. The problem is I use the phone for VesselView Mobile and switching back and forth is a pain. Also, when turning the boat on and off the music will start playing automatically...
Hi all - I want to install a transom remote and a dash remote for the stereo on my 2016 19SPX as it's a pain to have to get into the glove box to pause/unpause or adjust the volume of the music. I currently have the Sony head unit that came with the boat and it appears however that Sony no...
FYI all - I did this same upgrade based on the above. Did the exact same thing, made a $75 offer on eBay, prewiring was in place. Super simple and makes all the difference in the world, as there is no hearing the rear speakers up front. Thanks for the idea GATORB8!

He's super knowledgeable and helpful. Helped me get my 19P High Five for my 19SPX.
I've noticed a crack in my gelcoat on the ski locker door as well as the floor of the boat on the port side of the ski locker door. Will have the dealer look at it when I take it in to winterize I suppose.
Sorry I've been OOP for so long... but I do have some updates here...
First of all - new prop - 19P Mercury High Five. The boat jumps out of hole with this thing - as advertised. When you hammer down, there's a nice high pitched whistle from the back - the nose rises, settles down and then...
No doubt. But it's helpful for me at least to see what an Engine/Prop combo. can do and how simple this all really is. Also I'm a geek so the more data the better.
Great question about the altitude - here's my take on it:
HP Loss = (elevation x 0.03 x horsepower @ sea level)/1000
So if our...
Glad to hear you got the boat out! I agree that handling is a blast!
Regarding the prop, I ordered a 19P High Five - should be arriving tomorrow.
Was your speed based on the speedometer or GPS? Also what pitch is your prop and what drive ratio leg do you have? The reason I ask is because...
Not yet. I finally got a chance to get the boat out yesterday and get some hard numbers:
Here’s what what I found:
Sea Ray 19SPX
Mercruiser 4.5L V6 200 HP
Recommended max rpm 4400-4800
Alpha 1 1.81
BlackMax 19P Prop
Running yesterday at 5400 ft. altitude:
Full throttle – 4800 RPM – Trim...
Vessel View Mobile - Does anyone know if the 4.5L Mercruiser is a SmartCraft Engine capable of adding the BT module to so we could use this app?: https://www.mercurymarine.com/en/us/gauges-and-controls/gauges-displays/vesselview-mobile/
I can't really seem to find any info one way or the other...
