Search FP for Mobella Talon. You will need to measure the door thickness to get the correct model. (mine was 22.5-27mm, MOBELLA-TALONMM-01-11X-X0) Removing & replacing is a very easy DIY. Once I had the new lock installed, I ordered some spare keys via Amazon.

We just closed on a 2001 52' Prima Seahorse. It's a 17 knot trawler with the same cummins engines that are found in the 40' Sea Rays of the same era. Three staterooms, two dry heads + 1 day head, high-gunnel's for easy & safe access to the bow and a hoist for a dingy, large engine room and...

    Clear Lake

After much thought, we’ll be putting our well-loved 400 on the market in the next couple of weeks. We enjoyed the boat, but it’s time for something bigger. Located in Clear Lake, Texas if you know anyone who’s looking for a good one.

    Shore Power Cords

I purchased a new 50A shore power cord this spring and it's a bear to twist onto the pedestal connection. Can anyone recommend any dielectric grease that would help with the tight connection? Possibly this? https://www.amazon.com/Camco-55013-PowerGrip-Electrical-Protectant/dp/B0024E71JI

    Reverse polarity

My marina sent this out to several docks yesterday. Can anyone explain how an issue on a boat could cause reverse polarity in the marina? WD-40 on electrical connections? Thank you! Good Afternoon, The Harbormasters asked me to send you an email regarding the recent reverse polarity...

Two areas to consider depending upon the height of your new flooring: The first is how will if change the total height of the steps if you put the new flooring under the steps. At worst, you need to trim down the height of the steps. (On a related note, if you pull the carpet off the steps...

We went with the next size smaller Panasonic that is 950W at full power. With the new inverter technology, it draws less amps when it is not set to cook at full power. Plenty big and powerful enough for anything we are warming up on the boat. Tigger, thanks again for your how-to guide. I...

Our old Sharp convection/microwave oven (Model R-820BK) seems to have gone dead. Any idea what a good replacement unit is? The R-820 was a 900 Watt, 13 Amp unit. Most of the potential replacements that I have found run 1000 Watts or more and draw 14+ amps. Is a higher power unit likely to...

    480 DB Owners Club

Thank you for the response Crime Scene, the only item that really surprised me is that the 400 has more storage room. In looking at the 480 market, it seems that there is generally a bit of an asking-price jump between the CAT and Cummins powered 480's that are of the same model year or just a...

Since I am still in year 1 of boat ownership, I'm looking for your thoughts on routine/annual engine/generator maintenance? - Oil Changes - Fuel filters - Other? What frequency is recommended for the above? Is it better to go by calendar months, engine hours, gallons diesel burned? Thanks...

    Anyone near Sarasota?

That's possibly the pregnant wife/girlfriend that he refers to in the text of the add; but the can of tuna and PBR... The helm station does come with a padded captain's seat. Not sure if that big yellow strap if for engine tilt or if that's the linkage for the steering?

    8.1 petroleum spots in exhaust

Playdate, that's your theory on replacing the transmission oil coolers? I had a leak on my starboard transmission oil cooler that caused a transmission failure. I asked the mechanic if I should replace the port side cooler, he said "it's optional, but that a leaking transmission oil cooler was...
