Hello Paul....Do you know what the deal is with the "water space" under the locker floor? I pulled the plastic plugs and there is water in mine along with foam type insulation. How does water get in there and what do you do about it?
I have a 2008 270 SLX that does not sit level in the water. It's a single engine 496 Mag.
It has a fresh water 20 gal tank that is centered in the hull. There's no waste water tank.
As far as I know the gas tank is also centered in the hull? There's never water in the bilge. It noticeable...
Just bought a 2008 270 SLX with the 496 mag engine and 260 hours.
At slow speeds, as soon as I start a turn, a distinct loud rattling noise starts but stops when I straighten back out. It happens in both directions. Any ideas?

The boat is 30 miles from me in storage but after hearing what you have said as well as others I've talked to, I'm going to pass on this boat. When I walk from the center of the boat to the port side, it's actually uncomfortably noticeable that I'm going downhill. The boat only has 139 hrs but...
After re-reading your reply, I guess I was misleading. Actually, I maybe shouldn't call it a "crown".
The center of the boat floor seems flat but it drops off considerably to both sides.
It reminds me of a house with a settling foundation...level in the center but sloping to the walls.

Looking at a 2009 290 SLX to purchase. The floor in the center of the boat has a high crown.
Makes sense for water drainage but it seems excessive. Is this normal or is it a structural issue.
