I fixed it!!! I managed to take the plate where the gauges are off, I could reach in And remove the top rail with a Phillips head bit in my 1/4” socket. Open the lower portion under the steering wheel and remove the Screws bottom track. Part of what was binding the door was some screws that come...
Hey all!!
I have a 2001, 245 SeaRay Weekender. My cabin door has decided to get stuck closed. It appears the rollers attached to the bottom of the door have dislodged. I think the screws have torn out of the door, allowing the rollers and door to shift forward and wedge itself into the framing...
It’s the first time I’ve noticed it was low and had to top it off SINCE rebuilding. And by topping it off I mean the reservoir was at the the lower of the two lines that indicate full.
We got to the lake and I checked the engine compartment as normal before firing it up, I noticed the drive lube was on the low end of operating range. I topped it off. We have been running around all weekend, and I checked it again today. It’s back to the low end of operating range. I haven’t...
Nope. Been on a trailer for the last few weeks.
Maybe I’m being a hypochondriac. I was afraid someone was gonna say “your power steering pump is about to fail” or something like that.
The outdrive (just by hand doesn’t appear to have a lot of play left or right, however I’ve never felt it otherwise to know if that is more than normal.

They are both all the way up for sure. They both work fully, and I typically run with them in the full up position until I need otherwise, then adjust accordingly.
we were out cruising around today and at higher speeds/rpm. The boat has a tendency to pull to starboard. I don’t ever remember this happened at all. If you are cruising at speed, set the steering wheel straight and let go it will immediately “wander” about a quarter steering wheel to the right...
I realized my two batteries are from 2010. How long do batteries usually last?
245 seaRay Weekender 2001, two identical batteries on a switch (1, both, 2, off)
Last season my mechanics found water in out outdrive oil, so they rebuilt everything over the winter. I was having an issue with the gauge that shows the outdrive tilt level, while looking into the sending unit I noticed the outdrive had 1 missing and one loose nut on what I believe is the...
Hi all!
I replaced my HPU and my trim tabs are back up and working! Thanks for the help. I also replaced the plastic around my trim tab control toggles. I was super careful not to mess up the wiring, however I may have swapped the two plugs somehow. (Or maybe the old unit was somehow wired...
Hi all!
Found this site through googling troubleshooting and seemed to be a lot of good info and help. So I joined.
I have a 2001 searay 245 weekender. It has Bennett v351 trim tab unit that is now leaking into my engine compartment. It appears to be dripping down the wall of the engine...
