Turn the speaker cover to the left to remove, then you will be able to see the mounting screws for the actual speaker. One of mine did not cooperate and I kinda had to destroy the cover to get it off.
I get it snug, make sure the o-ring is still on and in good shape. Had the same problem with our light pole, had never been used by the previous owner. Took a small file and cleaned the corrosion out of contacts and put some dielectric grease in and she was good to go.
This is what I did.
I bought a Taylor Made flag and pole, it is the same size as your stern light pole, remove the plastic cap at the bottom.
I bought the shortest version of the OEM stern light that I could (to save some $$). Took off the black locking thing and put it on my flag pole...
Do you know someone with boating experience? If so, ask them if they would come along on your maiden voyage. Its great to have a little back up and support.

Two years ago, I purchased 04 240 Sundeck, marina maintained with documentation, carpet never used, very clean and well cared for, full canvas, 260 hours, fresh water boat only, trailer included. I paid 24K, but it was also in October.
My sister and her family did something very similar, got out the best china, made name cards for each place setting, everyone dressed to the nines. Had a cocktail hour first and then rib eyes from the grill. We will give it a go this weekend. Great suggestion!

Please do, and I sincerely hope that you are 100% correct that a lock down is not needed. Because if your not, the hurt that was inflicted by this lock down will be nothing compared to the next one.
I went with Shurhold products this time. Used their buff magic, wool and foam pads, and polish. As many other people have mentioned, not using too much buff magic is key along with buffer speed.
We bought a used 240 Sundeck last October, got it home in time to winterize and cover. It is in great shape with low hours and well maintained. The one negative was that the gel coat was in desperate need of attention. In the spring I buffed/polished/waxed, but didn't get as good of a job as...
