There are no stupid questions....some things are just more obvious to others. I also have a 380 A/C, not a lot of them around. We love our boat. Only down side is the tightfitting places where the problems occur.
The Oil Pressure gauge Dances around a lot on the Helm Gauge, Stays steady on the engine mounted gauge. Does anyone know where I can order a new Oil pressure sending unit for a Cat 3126? Cannot seem to get hits online. Thanks
I guess I am missing something here too. You said you put Pine Sol in the strainer and close the thru hull. When you run the A/C does the Pine sol not go through the A/C unit itself and out the discharge?
What if your strainer does not hold a gallon? Can you leave the lid off the strainer and continue to pour until strainer is empty? Do you run the A/C unit until no liquid comes out the discharge thru hull?
My Battery lay out is as follows: 2 Batteries on Port side, 2 Batteries on Starboard side and 1 Battery for Generator. Without thinking things through and getting a discount...I replaced the 2 old wet cell port Batteries with 2 AGM's. The 2 wet cell Batteries on the starboard side are only about...
Want to replace the Cone shaped Air Filters on my 2001 Cat 3126's. Has anyone replaced these with an aftermarket brand? If so, what brand and part #. I cannot make out the part # or brand on the current air filters. Thanks, Ken
Update....Got the video camera working, I don't know what i did but it works for now. Still no Sirius, cannot find a fuse. I probably need to check the power somehow between the antenna and cable.
When it works, the camera operates when you go to video on the Garmin, I just use it to back up. Thanks for the info, I had to google nmea 2000 to see what you were talking about. I did not know all that wiring and cables had a name. I did check the connections but i will do a more thorough job...
Went to Boat 3 weeks ago in Florida and could not get the sirius xm radio or the back up camera to work on the Garmin 7610. It shows no media and no options for the radio. Camera itself has red lights on in the lense so it must be getting power but the screen is blank. I called Garmin and Sirius...
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that the port engine fired right up. Still can't figure out why it would not start at the shop. Is there a kill switch that activates if there is no seawater coming into the engine?
UPDATE!! Decided to move boat back to marina slip (about 20 miles ) on the starboard engine. I just did not feel comfortable with the shop doing the work. I felt that they would hammer me on the price, and the mechanic did not want to do it. I ended up doing it myself with the help of a fellow...
Thanks Frank, That makes me feel a little better about the pump replacement. I finally made it back to the boat today to look it over and the pump is located in a miserable place. They did get the impeller out and it was deformed, but all there. As far as the air introduced into the fuel system...
