    Current situation.....

I didn't see this. Sorry. It is set up as a well. There's a pre build wood cabinet that gets screwed in there and it forms a well with that shelf. Problem is there's no drain so it backs up and comes out between the shelf and the bottom of the cabinet that sits on top of it.

Anyone here on the jersey shore?

Hey I was in slip 72. I've seen your boat. Nice boat. I thought you guys were pulling out a generator when I saw you all working on it. My wife and I were basically summer time liveaboards, we were always on the boat. We didn't go home at all..... As for the boat I'll be doing the work. We...

    Current situation.....

Well, I decided to go with drain holes and the sloped wood. I'll glass it in to guide the water to the holes. Clamshell the outside. I have the upholstery for it to put back in. We're redoing the entire thing so I wanted to take care of this while I was in there. Also going to use the hewsepipe...

    Current situation.....

I guess I can. It's just oddly shaped down there. Gonna have to position the hole just right

    Current situation.....

That looks like the route I'm gonna have to take

    Current situation.....

That is the biggest issue I'm having. There is no drain.... It's solid glass to the outside of the boat. So it's really not an option to drill one either.

    Current situation.....

That's the route I'm going to go. But where the water runs into (the rope locker) there's NO drain. No holes no nothing. I guess because there was no windlass on this boat originally.

    Current situation.....

That's most likely what I'll do, but drainage is where I'm stuck. It's solid glass to the outside of the boat. So drilling isn't an option I guess. Don't know how nill fit a sump in there...... Just not sure what to do with it.

    Current situation.....

Yeah Im 99% sure I'm going to have to re-seat/seal it, but where the rope/chain enters the locker is my concern. It's just a Giant, raw hole. I'm not sure how to provision it so it'll drain correctly. The cover however seems like a plausible Idea. I also considered building something around it...

    Current situation.....

Sorry about the pictures being sideways, not real sure why it did that.....

    Current situation.....

So the previous owner installed a windlass in my boat. (81 310 sedan bridge). Well we've always had a problem with water entry into the berth, for obvious reasons. Luckily, this was done right before I got ahold of the boat so it hasn't rotted. I'm wondering what I should do with the gaping hole...

Anyone here on the jersey shore?

I did ALOT of work out of lanoka harbor I actually worked at j&e for a short while. Like I said I'm at laurel harbor, right on laurel Blvd. I'm on the 1st tee dock over there. I'm one of the few still in. My boat has been at laurel for about 20 years though.

    Motor and trans questions Confusion

Probably, especially since I'll be going to a hurth trans. Everyone I've talked to has told me what I already suspected, that a velvet j drive just can't be reversed. It's not made for it. Unless it's specifically listed on the tag that it's "fully reversing" don't do it. I'm OK with swapping...
