I probably could have gotten away with replacing all pistons and reusing existing block but I opted for a new long block for 2 reasons. One who knows where that metal that broke off ended up... and 2 buy buying a complete assembled long block that portion will carry Cummins 2yr 2000 hour...
Wow amazing. These guys must have been done this before. Wonder how they got to the outboard side of the oil pan bolts. Tight space to work with in there to start. I cant imagine how they had enough height to lift pistons out of there once engine was lifted. I am impressed.
On mine they removed the port salon couch, removed carpet around that area and then removed the factory hatch under the carpet. I was pretty impressed to Sea Ray Engineers actually designed a factory enclosed hatch that when removed allows for complete removal of the engine. Once they removed...
Nice to see things moving forward. I am very interested to see they are able to do this without lifiting engine out. Did they even remove the floor panels?
On mine we have the motor completely out of the boat. New long block supposed to start going in later this week then reassembly happens. I...
I placed an order with Taylor made for this the other day. They are currently closed until this Covid thing passes but they do have it when they do re open.

I was referring to the 390/40 Motoryacht since this thread was for that but either way Sundancer is also a great model as well and has similar power packages. I have heard of them coming with Cummins 450 diamonds and the 6.7 QSB 380. Sounds like thats what you are looking at. I do not know as...
So here’s my 2 cents. The 390/40 is a great boat all around. Great looks, well built and has many features and designs that are way ahead of its time. The 480 CE engines are iron work horses so long as you have the upgraded heads and propped properly. That is really there only fault. Each Diesel...
Sounds like bad fuel pump. But get a tech with Rhindas if your motor has smart craft and they can run a series of tests to rule out fuel pump, injectors and or bad sensors. If its getting the fuel but not the spark usually would be indication of bad cap but you said you did that. Go after fuel...
