Started to get the engines and engine room ready for detailing, while cleaning the engines. Some of the paint started to flake off near the cylinder head. What would you guys do to prep the area, if anything.
I was prepared to just touch up spray paint the areas but now I'm thinking I need some...
Posting this for a friend.
He is in the salvage business and wound up owning a 1989 280 sundancer.
From the pictures I saw, all glass appears intact. He is looking to sell it all, as parts. Located in NJ.
If you may be interested in, please let me know.
Thanks!

A previous owner of my boat had a silly stereo system installed. One if the things I don't like is how the installer ran multiple connections to the positive terminal of one of my batteries.
Would something like this work?

Had a guest break one of these this weekend.
Anyone know where to get a new one, how to remove old and what did searay use to adhere the clip to the wall of the shower?
Thanks!
Going to be moving the boat to Montauk for August and was curious what your favorite places to go anchor for a day. Doesn't have to be Montauk itself but anywhere out east.
I can say I like:
Montauk:
Fort Pond Bay
Shelter Island:
Coecles Harbor
West Neck Harbor
Thanks !

I haven't been down to the boat since the smoke got bad, but there is a post on a local FBook chat that said whatever was in the smoke is leaving a residue that is staining gelcoat.
I know there is definitely film of some sort on my car that won't just rinse off, so i can see some validity to...
My folks are in Boynton beach and are looking to add canopy with a frame over the end of a pier. They had someone who seems to have backed out. Down here for the weekend and figured I'd ask for those close by if you had any recommendations.
Thanks !

Not sure where on the forum to post this, if needs to be moved please let me know.
Son bought his first new car and wants to get it ceramic coated and i have no first hand knowledge. I know a lot of it is prep, but outside that.
So, for those of you who have done this, is there a particular...
Last week after pumping out, my indicator didn't read empty. First time since I own the boat. Tried flushing the tank with water and pumping it out again but no help. This morning, prior to pumping out, got the indicator to read 1/2 but still no luck getting it to read empty after pump out...

A few weeks ago, guy in a 55+ Azimut in Montauk was next to me and told me he was headed back to Lindenhurst through the Moriches (albeit at High Tide). Just curious if anyone who has a ~4ft draft has done it this year and if they did, any chance you can share the route via navionics?
Thanks...
This weekend, like many, we had record high heat. Went to a marina we frequent often and never had a problem... Til Saturday.
Docked, plugged in shore power, shut down the generator and started up the A/Cs again on shore power. A few minutes later, ALL of my AC units had shut down with the code...
Down at the boat yesterday and noticed a small water trail coming from the bottom of the head.
Took off the pedal to reveal the water valve was dripping slowly but constantly at the bottom. Fittings were dry.
Ok needs to be replaced. Seems straight forward.
Go to the usual sources and they...
Buddy has a 1987 Sundancer with 454 Crusaders (1 motor is reverse rotation)
He has gone through a couple of mechanics who have screwed up the counter rotating engine.
One put the wrong starter in and one reversed the hoses on his water pump, screwing up a brand new impeller.
He's having a...
