One of Patrick's suggestions is to back flush the line from the pump to the hull fitting. I can't really access the line at the pump because it is too hard to access but I can get the hose off at the hull fitting. My question is can I access it there and hook up a vacuum and suck out anything...
Patrick, thank you for taking the time to write out such a long and thoughtful message. I understand the concepts better now and that was very helpful. It is raw water cooled. Appreciate your help.
I spent all day at the boat, the trim tabs have nothing to do with my problem, only that when they are up the engine rpms go up from 4500 to 4800 which is where I have my problem. Only on port engine, starboardengine water pressure is normal. Engine temperature stays perfect at 154 degrees. I...
UPDATE: I spent all day at the boat, the trim tabs have nothing to do with my problem, only that when they are up the engine rpms go up from 4500 to 4800 which is where I have my problem. I payed close attention on a test drive to the water pressure based on all your great feedback and the...
I have a brand new oem water pressure sensor I will try. Answer to post #6 and other questions I missed are it one long alarm and goes into guardian mode, doesn't shut off but I back the engine down to idle and then she's good to go again.
thanks all. I called mercury and they said the rpm spec for my engine is 4800-5200 rpms. It is my boat and wanted to see if I could solve it for the people buying it. The mercury rep said the water pressure should be between 11-20 psi. Does anyone know what the oil psi should be at 4800 rpms...
Hello, I have a survey on Monday and no way to get to a mechanic or diagnostic reader for a code before then so I hope some of you have some ideas with all your experience. I have a 2007 320 Sundancer with 2 350 mercruiser mag mpi with v drives. My starboard engine will go wide open throttle...
Hi, I have 2 350 mag mpi engines in my 2007 320 sundancer. While climbing into the bilge I hit one of those cheap plastic drain plug and the head flew off leaving the body with the screws and it looks like a hole in the middle still in place. I'm sure this has happened a lot and I'm looking...
hello all, I have a leak in my port side trim tab. The pump is close to it and there is a metal tube that goes through a small hole in the transom. Any suggestions would be appreciated I can't even find good pictures of the entire assembly. Also, my boat is in a slip. thank you so much
Many thanks Phil and Kevin. I do have the shower by the transom door, good tip. Kevin, since you just went through this when I open the back hatch there are two bolt heads I can see and then seems like behind the shower covering. Are there any more on the starboard side after it curves around...
hi all, i have a 2007 320 sundancer and the stiching along the top of the rear seat bolster that rests against the transom is unravelling probably due to years of the boat cover fitting snugly against it. I can see two bolts in the back hatch where my power cord is, is that all that's holding...
It comes up in the parts schematic as a PCM, propulsion control module, is this the one you mean? I have also heard the term ecm, engine control module, is it the same thing? Thank you
Thank all, this is very helpful. what and where is the tank vent and how would I clear it? Is that where the fuel overflows if you overfill it out of the side of the boat? As for the distributor, I just took off the distributor cap and rotor and visually inspected everything looking for...
I have a 2007 320 sundancer with 2 mercruiser 350 mag mpi engines with v drive. I can idle out of my marina and can go 1000, 1500, 2000 and 2500 rpms with no problems. When I get it up on plane at about 3800 rpms it runs beautifully for 2-3 minutes and then the starboard engine shuts off like...
Can an individual purchase computer software or system to show error codes? What is the most economical but effective product to do that? I have 2 mercruiser 350 mag mpi engines, 2007. Thank you
Hi All, I have a 2007 320 sundancer with 2 mercruiser 350 mag mpi engines. Are the fuel filters in what i believe is called the fuel cooling module the only fuel filters on each engine? Are these also what are called water separating fuel filters or is that a different type and place? The...
I have a 2007 320 sundancer with an open raw water cooling system on 2 mercruiser 350 mag mpi engines. I am planning on running barnacle buster through them via the strainer and let them sit for 4 hours per their recommendation and then flush the barnacle buster out. My question is does the...
