Not sure if it would work, but try wrapping some light test fishing line between the turn button shaft and the windshield if you can get it behind there. That may tighten it up.

No they are inputs. I have had a bluetooth receiver hooked up for 3 years on mine. Assuming the same radio on a 2005. I always listen to pandora on the bay.

I can confirm your suspicions, yes the rca plugs are for an aux input so you just need a bluetooth dongle and you will be good to go.
