    Limber Holes location

I am not sure what those plugs are for. I don't believe my 06 185 Sport has them. If I had to guess, they are inspection holes to check for water within those cavities...but, again, not sure why your 205 would have them and my 185 doesn't. Maybe they were added by a previous owner?

    Limber Holes location

Edwin, limber holes in boats allow water to drain to the lowest point, i.e. the bilge. I have a 185, so I'm assuming it's similar, if not the the same - the easiest ones to locate will be the ones where your floor meets the rear bench, there should be 2 fittings(one on each side). From there...

    Speaker Replacement

^^^^ Both did, and while they may be discontinued, they're still available through certain sources. JL M770 as a component set and Wet Sounds XS series as a convertible - but I get what you're saying. Probably need to hear back from redlightning as to what he/she ultimately want, their goal...

    Speaker Replacement

I believe both JL and Wet Sounds both make "convertible" speakers, meaning the tweeter can either be mounted in the grill to resemble the typical coaxial, or they come with adapters to move the tweeter off to the side like a typical component set - I know at least one of them do/did.

    Bilge blower/hose size?

Oops, forgot I created this profile before I bought this boat and I was still shopping. It's an 06 185 Sport with a 3.0, added to my signature. I have the original manual, but it doesn't specify size.

2006 Sport 185 - Leaving it in fresh water for the summer?

Thanks, all. Figured it'd be fine as all of our outings, thus far, have resulted in a dry bilge after a full day on the water. Nevertheless, wanted to be sure.

2006 Sport 185 - Leaving it in fresh water for the summer?

I've got a secondary question that relates...what about the plug in the transom? Should I just tighten it down really good? Add Teflon tape to the threads? Any other precautions to take?

    Bilge blower/hose size?

Anyone know if it's a 3" or 4"? I'm away from the boat right now and want to order a new one as it was starting to make noise at the end of last season. Thanks in advance.

That's what forums are for. I appreciate everyone's input.

2006 Sport 185 - Leaving it in fresh water for the summer?

Thank you both for this. I can easily pull it out once a month or so and clean/wax the bottom. I didn't know this about vinylester, but after reading this reply, I looked into it and see they are much less susceptible to blistering.

2006 Sport 185 - Leaving it in fresh water for the summer?

I was hoping that this was not the answer as I hate how bottom painted hulls look and the added maintenenace factor of them.

2006 Sport 185 - Leaving it in fresh water for the summer?

Hey, all. I find myself in a position where I'm considering renting a slip on Percy Priest Lake in Nashville, TN and leaving my 185 in the water for the entire boating season, which is about 6-7 months long. We'd use it 5-6 times a month during that time. The main concern I have is damage to...

185 Sport - What do you tow it with?

It's getting time to retire my 05 Chevy Suburban that I've been using to tow my 2006 185 Sport. Not sure I want to replace it with another full size SUV, so I'm curious as to what others are using to tow their similar size and weight boats. A pickup does not suit our needs and wants as this...

    Looking at a 2006 185 Sport - Have questions...

Yes, I was trying with a small drill bit by hand and at one point gripped it with a pair of vice grips. Spinning the bit by hand, I could get it to grab something once in a while, but couldn't get it to bite whatever is in there and check the tip for debris. Was hoping I would at least see if...

    Looking at a 2006 185 Sport - Have questions...

Video links below. Finally got to take it out for its first trial run this past Sunday. The goal was just to burn some fuel through it, and shake the thing down to see what problems might creep up. Found 4 issues, all minor. 1. The ignition switch took a dump. I could turn it and get the...

    Depth finder way off

I bought a Hummingbird Helix 5 Chirp GPS SI G2 today, just don't like having things that don't work. Might just pull out the depth finder gauge and put something else in its place, like a voltage gauge.

    Depth finder way off

Didn't pay a ton of attention because we know the lake well, but one cove that we know should be about 10-15' was showing 200'. There were a handful of times where it apeared to be right, or close to it, but most times way off. Didn't seem to make a difference if we were moving, or staionary.

    Depth finder way off

Found a manual for the HDR600, it has keel offset adjustment, but its range is only +/- 10'. That wouldn't come anywhere close to calibrating out an error of hundreds of feet.

    Depth finder way off

Like showing 500' when the known max depth of the lake I'm in is around 100' during normal pool. No smart gauges, just a digital read out display in a 2" gauge size format with an in hull transducer. It has some settings for depth alarms, wasn't sure if there was a way to calibrate it using...

    Depth finder way off

The factory depth finder in my new to me 06 185 Sport is way off. Its an in hull transducer, so there's no adjustment to be made there. Is there some sort of calibration process needed, or does it just need to be replaced?
