Solved the project. Had to drill 2 new holes in the new brackets to match the old brackets. My neighbor has LONG arms and was able to access the nuts via the engine compartment. I bought an extra long 7/16 box ratchet wrench to use and we were successful working as a team.

Hi all, We are trying to change out the original 2 step ladder with a 3 step ladder. It typically should be a very easy thing to do but accessing the 4 bolts the ladder is attached with is very difficult. You can try to go in from the battery compartment...but need to be a small kid to get...
