I removed, cleaned and reinstalled the battery connections. Next is to check the ground but I couldn’t get to it due to those panels. Will try again to take them off. I found the L brackets, just wasn’t sure if that would do the trick.
And: The reply from @WinkBuilt describes a safety switch...
@Arminius @Korkie @Espos4 - how do I get access to main ground bus & engine connection?
And is there a way to remove these panels on either side of engine ?
this is an 05 sea Ray 185 sport FYI
Took some family out for a cruise yesterday and after about two hours of constant cruising we pulled into the area near the dock. Boat was idling for a couple minutes while we waited for our turn, then it died. When I say that, I mean everything was totally gone. Zero power whatsoever. Fan...
2019 Tacoma here. Excellent daily driver & plenty of power. Perfect for my family which is two little kids. I will say if my boys were teenagers it would be too small.
Folks on this thread ...one more question from a first time boat owner. How long do you hold the key in the crank position when starting after pumping the throttle a few times ? If I’m only doing 1-2 seconds is that too short?
Boat engines have more of a “grinding” sound than cars which I’m...
I called the mechanic whom i've had work on my boat in the past and he recommended what a few of you guys are saying, mount it right behind the windshield in the flat area and have the cover modified. it looks like two little u-shaped cutouts will do the trick. He gave me a guy that can do it or...
Got it. Good point and thank you. Yeah, you can ignore the pole location now, it's just sitting there and not in the exact spot we want it. It seems like the pivot ability of the receiver/mount will allow me to mount it on or outside the snap line unless folks here think it would be a less...
Thanks everyone for the quick feedback. this is really helpful. For reference this i an 05 185 sport.
What do you mean by this? The bimini is slightly wide than the snap line. The mount also has a pivot/rotate ability but only one direction - should i have it pivot toward the inside of the...
Question for anyone who is an expert on Bimini installation. Given that my boat has snaps installed for the snap on cover, should I be sure to mount the Bimini mount outside of the snaps to make sure that the mount doesn’t interfere with the snap on cover (which is nice and snug)?

Interesting. They told me that it works just like auto: I call their 800 number (this is progressive via USAA) to report it, and then they contract it out and the tow shows up. So
I don’t have to file a claim, but I bet you’re right it takes a while.
