We’re not talking about a 40 foot Searay.
OP said his budget is 10K-30K, so your comments are out of scope. Every transaction is negotiable. People should decide what works best for them.
For a $100K+ craft, the deposit would go into escrow backed up by a contract outlining terms of...
im boatless because it hasn’t been a good time to buy, for quite some time. Boat sellers are trying to hit the lottery, and many are succeeding. But With $8 a gallon a gas on the horizon and uncertainty in the financial markets and Russia, I suspect things should get much better for buyers...
don’t put a deposit down until after the sea trial. Be patient and deliberate in your search. It’s very easy to give up your money. Much more difficult to get it back.
you did the right thing. Never buy a boat without a sea trial and survey. As others posted, issues may crop up during the sea trial that might not otherwise be apparent.
I would strongly suggest renting a boat of similar size to make sure that it will provide what you want. I was considering the same, but after renting I found it was too small for my taste, however it might fit what you want.

here’s the Boynton Inlet vídeo in case anyone...
thx for sharing.
slip fees for me would be roughly 4K. Even so , not so much concerned with slip fees, Gas and boat price. What I am concerned about is maintenance. Which seems like a big X factor. Trying to avoid a situation where I have to lay out thousands for engines , for example. Now...
Come on boys. Both of you have made very good points, and your feedback is very much appreciated. Y'all just have a different perspective on things, and that's fine. Let's not get derailed over petty nonsense.
whichever boat I get will be fully utilized to it’s potential, depending on its functionality.
I’m not so concerned about the boating payment or boat cost, which would be known and predictable. I’m more concerned about the maintenance expenses which crop up, which Are unknown, and trying to be...
