    New Engine Overheating (Strange situation)

Fair point. Yes... been mostly replacing parts in pairs. In the sake of time, just need to get it running correctly for now, then go back and replace matching items. This hose would be the last part and is a PITA to do with the engine in place. Thanks, again.

    New Engine Overheating (Strange situation)

Welp... guess that was it. Replaced the reinforced wire hose, even though it didn't look bad when I took it out, and things are finally flowing and ready to get back in the water. Much thanks! Such a silly oversight. I'm just tired, worn out, and working too much I guess

    New Engine Overheating (Strange situation)

Volume appears to have been the issue, and swapping the reinforced wire hose did the trick. Stupid simple oversight... :/

    New Engine Overheating (Strange situation)

Pulled hose just now... looks normal inside and out... maybe it is still weak enough to collapse under vac I guess... going to weasel my arms back in there and try again with the new hose. Thanks.

    New Engine Overheating (Strange situation)

Yes... it may be my imagination, but it does seem to be a slow flow. But, yes... water is getting TO the pump it would seem.

    New Engine Overheating (Strange situation)

Hahaha And, yes I 3D printed and adapter and did all that. It flowed out.

    New Engine Overheating (Strange situation)

Lapse in judgement and focused on everything else. It wasn't something we were looking for at first. The getting hot is what started us tracking all this down. THEN we noticed no water.

Thought I mentioned that... it flows.

    New Engine Overheating (Strange situation)

Hmmm... nope, Old. Good point. I assume the only hose that could get suction is the one between stern and pump inlet. All others would be positive pressure lines? "Good thing" this is the hose under all the power steering hardware and is "so easy to access" now that the engine is back in. ;)...

Purchasing 2005 280 Sundancer - No Buzzer on Starboard Engine

Guess we figured it out. Thanks for the assists, all! Not only was the Starboard ECM dead. Ordered a new one, and she lives again... Sort of. Now, we have overheat issues; in another thread http://www.clubsearay.com/index.php?threads/new-engine-overheating-strange-situation.112887/

    New Engine Overheating (Strange situation)

Howdy... My friend Phil is usually the one posting here, but here I am with all the details. We finally finished dropping in the two new engines (previous owner didn't winterize before the big freeze). A bit perplexed at the simplest of things... Here's the scene... 2003 Sundancer with dual 305...

trim tab issues. 2005 sea ray 280 sundancer

Now, that I could do easy enough behind the EIM; if anything, temporarily until a new pad/EIM could be afforded. And, yeaaaa $$$$$ was the first thing we noticed causing sadness.

trim tab issues. 2005 sea ray 280 sundancer

Agreed on the membrane button issue and hard pressing. That's what I was pointing out and what leads me to believe a failed pad membrane button. Would it make sense to lean more toward button pad than EIM, since EIM is still working with other signals? Granted EIM firmware could be faulted on...

trim tab issues. 2005 sea ray 280 sundancer

@Henry Boyd I am helping him with his issue locally. I am a friend of his that is doing the work. He mentioned me in a previous comment to assist with explaining the steps we took so far. We are both newcomers working together on the same boat. Thank you for all the assistance and advice.

trim tab issues. 2005 sea ray 280 sundancer

He left that part out. Sorry. To my knowledge, you can't hotwire the pad buttons on the serial 4-wire dash pads, right? I get that you can hotwire on the non EIM systems though. They send a multiplex signal to the EIM which then the EIM sends the signal to the power wires on the pump.

trim tab issues. 2005 sea ray 280 sundancer

@Henry Boyd thank you so much, though... See my outline above. I could see a jam being an issue, but the pump does not energize nor solenoid when pressing the upper right button. However, lower right, wbile hard to press, energized motor and solenoid. This is less a matter of trim not moving...

Solendoid works in other direction... solenoid fine.

Thanks for the mention @Nelco Yes, this is using the serial signal panel with EMI. One side works up and down. Other side only works in one direction. Based on the fact that direction is affected by motor polarity and not valves, we know the motor signals are good, since it uses the same two...
