This winter I plan on rebuilding my engine in my '89 Sea Ray 268. While she's out I plan on installing Air Conditioning in her. Who makes the better units and where has the better prices.
Keep in mind despite us living in Wisconsin, we plan on towing her to Florida yearly.
Thanks in advance.
I finally got the boats first video filmed and edited on my YouTube Channel. Below is the link. This video introduces viewers to the family, the boat and the cleanup of the cabin. And the hope of years of great use and fun.
Enjoy.
Recently we bought our 1989 Sea Ray 268. She has been neglected during her last 3-4 years as the previous owner was in over his head with thid boat. The cabin needed to be cleaned terribly. The before pictures were taken by my son a week before we brought her home. The after pictures were...
If a guy was to trailer his boat to the Philadelphia area to be close to family for a week, what marinas would he stay at? Preferably on the Pennsylvania side.
Ok,
Where are the best places to get new Exhaust Manifolds and Risers. 1989 Sea Ray 268 Sundancer.
7.4 (454 Chevy) 3 inch riser. Center riser.
Oh, engine oil / power steering cooler too...
Typical to me, I tend to buy things that would be expensive cheap by getting them broken. So with that being said, I went into my 1989 268 Sundancer fully aware of the possible issues.
The owner i bought it from was over his head with this boat in my opinion. Good guy, but not knowledgeable...
I decided on what I wanted, what style and what fits us and our price point without borrowing money. 268 Sundancer it was. But which one? Living near Green Bay now and a long haul trucker I had opportunity to look at a few in Michigan. This left me with power plant questions. But closer to...
Well its been some time since I've been on here. But I'm back with a question for anyone here.
Well I've settled in buying a Sea Ray 268 as it is the largest available to tow on a trailer without oversize load issues. Im seeing them in the mid to late 80s. Some have twin 3.0 4cyl...
I may have found a deal too good to pass up. I found a '86 300DA with one engine needing a short block due to compression issues.
The salesman explained to me that it was assumed to be a valve issue, so they removed the heads, rebuilt and reinstalled. The same trouble remains. assuming...
As I work on our boat project I started to look around at some places to take her. When I started looking around I started noticing some interesting places. I am also into industrial history. Naturally Canals play a big part in that. Here are a few links to places I have found...
I picked up a BOMAG road roller in Kewaunee Illinois yesterday. The workers there told me that the plant was closing. At first (sadly) I thought of myself and the loads we get from there. But then asked the guy who told me about the news if he had plans. He had none. He said he had 17...
We are just thinking. A friend of ours is looking to move to Cape Coral. Are there marinas down there to lease a slip for 6 months during the winter months? Or are they pretty much a yearly basis?
We are working on our 73 SRV 240. Restoration thread here. http://clubsearay.com/showthread.php/64710-1973-SRV-240-Repower-Restoration-Moving-Forward-Again
We removed the carpet in the cabin and looked around under the step to get in the cabin. It was just a piece of plywood with no glass...
Yesterday here in the frozen state of Wisconsin it actually got over 32. It got up to 41:wow: Today is forecasted to do the same. Also this morning there were a few small birds playing in the snow and tweeting up a racket.
Its the early sign of spring on approach.:smt038
That is until...
Our 73 has the original front seats. However they are torn up some. Charlene and I like the original design and also since the backs fold down. Anybody around us know of a place that can redo seats? We are going to use the same setup but they will no longer be on the "stilts". That seems...
