Surprise Gale winds over night on Thursday. Woke up on Friday to find the boat missing!!
Luckily we found her next door, narrowly missing the neighbors dock and the house next door.
Swept into a rocky cove and spent the night banging on the rocks and she was sitting high on the beach at low...
She's finally home. Happy to report the 2nd half of the trip went very well yesterday. Once we got close to home we opened her up to 3K RPM for half an hour and she performed very well at ~ 21kts. Slight temp creep on STBD engine over the 30min. Probably the impeller, I'll get that changed and...
After a month of delays (weather and otherwise) we finally go to run the boat up to Maine from Newburyport.
We didn't push it to hard, with mostly unknown to me, but well maintained, 40yo engines. Ran at 12mph/2100 RPM. Slow and Steady and until we get closer to home to see what our top end...
I've got a few dead gauges, but simple fixes, not worried about them.
However, I did notice that the Hot Water heater is leaking and has obviously been crap for a longtime. A previous owner did bypass the outputs, but left the hot supply from the engine in place and those seem to be leaking...
Probably, but I live on Mid Coast Maine...Not easy to get people out for that stuff, I can't even get electricians out for the house, but certainly worth a try.
Thanks Jim...My problem, which I did not put in my post. Is there is no code on my lock, so no idea where to start. I can talk to some others at the marina, but haven't seen any boats of my vintage there yet. But I'll be in the water on Monday and I'll prowl around docks that day.
Anyone have an idea where to get a new key for the Salon Door? It's completely functional and locks from the inside, but I don't have a key for the external side.
Agree with Creek. I had this issue on my '82 SB...I have 2 terminal blocks at the flybridge, but something must be wrong with the one that is switched on the ACC breaker, so the previous owner(s) put everything on the always on block. I turned on some stuff to see if it was working and forgot...
I'm working on some electrical maintenance on the flybridge - adding a new radio, GPS and I decided to replace the old school terminal blocks and old corroded fuses at the same time.
While I was under the flybridge the other night and I noticed the plywood backing that holds the terminal blocks...
There should be. On mine there are 2 terminal blocks. One hooked to the ACC Breaker on the STBD Helm Panel and the other is constant power direct from DC main breaker to individual breakers on the Port Panel.
Thanks Guys...Yes, I know they are breakers, sorry. Just used to calling them switches. I'm just looking for a drop in replacement for now, because I have a couple that have been exposed on the fly bridge for a long time and they don't latch very well. I do plan to have the salon breaker panel...
