Might also look at easternmarine.com . They have a division called trailer parts superstore, have a lot of hubs, bearings, etc. I bought from them and was very pleased with product.
I would be looking at replacing the bearings and tires. I just replaced my duel axle bearings, new seals, grease and 1 hub for about $200 in parts, another $350 for tires. Older tires go bad even if they still have thread left. I cleaned and sanded the other hubs and the brake pads, they...
Had a duel axle Loadmaster alum trailer, sold last year for $2400. Not sure how old but would guess 5+ years (came with another 26' boat I bought and since sold). Had 3 people wanting to buy after listing on Craigslist. Your's should be much more valuable. Try listing high and seeing what...
Don't know if you can get much more, that is about all mine will do. A 6000lb. heavy arse boat is underpowered with a 350 if you want to go keep up with Mario Andretti.
Not as impressive as the big guys but I thought pretty good for a small boat. Cruising Charleston Harbor with Ravenel Bridge in background. And not a sailboat in sight!
The frame was not replaced, used the old canvas as a pattern and installed on the old frame. Frame needs some adjustment and a good buff with "Never Dull" but otherwise is in pretty good shape.
When I bought the boat it came with an instrament/switch panel put in by the previous owner. It was a plywood box covered in vinyl just sitting on top of a crude hole where the origional panel was. The wiring was a ball of spaggetti, piece-mealed together with everything from household wire to...
You have about 90 miles to Murrels' Inlet from Charleston, can't float there from ICW without getting into the ocean for quite a run, but a short taxi ride will get you to the inlet area. For some fresh fish try Harrelson, a small hole in the wall place just south of restaurant row and the...
Put new horns on my boat week before last. Old wires were in stable condition so all I had to do was reconnect. There was pleanty of slack available if needed so maybe you should try getting past the sealant to see if that will help. Good luck!
That model boat is starboard heavy. Mine does it and so do a lot of other owners of same or simular models and has been discussed in other threads. Might want to search this subject for more info.
I removed my swim platform inserts to sand and refinish. Since they were coated with some old brownish varnish finish I did not realize until I began sanding that one of them was replaced with mahogany and one was the origional teak. The mahogany still looked very good and I know it can be...
Even with what I also consider is an underpowered engine/drive for the 268DA I can still get on plane in a short run and cruise at an acceptable speed. Other boat owning passengers I have had on board commented on the good performance as well.
Mooner,
Well you have to keep the boat well...
I use the 15.25X15 and am able to run in what I consider an acceptable performance range for the boat. The 268DA is a heavy load to push with the motor/drive you have and looking for more performance may be hard to achive. Having said that I had a great deal of improvement when I installed a...
Welcome to the site. Very nice classic. Coastal SC low country is heaven on earth. Thought I had a long trip from home to my boat. It takes me about 3 hours to get from N. Augusta to Charleston. I usually make the trip about twice a month.
I am sure a deer butt door bell in New York city is rare. We probably have a lot of them here in SC but I am not sure where they are. Sometimes work slow is fun fast.
