Annual 310 Budget Estimate - newbie here

Okay, one more question, and maybe this should be a different thread? This is regarding MAJOR preventive maintenance. In looking at YouTube videos, I believe I could inspect/replace the manifolds, risers and impellers (Bravo III) myself. What are the other major engine, preventative maintenance...

Annual 310 Budget Estimate - newbie here

Thanks Creekwood ! Couldn't ask for a better answer than the 10 years of actual expense for your 330 that you guided me to. As an aside, as I strive to learn more about power boats, I've subscribed to a YouTube guy with the same boat as you. His boat is boogaboo and I think he's also located in...

Annual 310 Budget Estimate - newbie here

Thanks for your replies and my additional research, I've got a handle on all items except "major repair/maintenance" reserve. How much should I reserve, and how often, for major engine and out drive maintenance/overhaul? This would be for a used 310, used in NC waters with less than 750 engine...

Annual 310 Budget Estimate - newbie here

I'm a long time sailboat owner, now switching to power (and quite excited about it !) I am trying to get a rough budget for annual operations cost based on 5 months hard and 7 months slip, in coastal NC. Does this look about right? Am I missing any major items? Annual boat cost estimate Used...

    Composting Toilet on 310? (2000-2010)

Thanks Sundancer for your detailed comments. I have decided against it. It seems that the Vacu Flush system is a good one, if not possibly the best. My initial motivation was a terrible experience on a Gemini 34 catamaran that was never resolved, despite expensive attempts. In looking at the...

    Composting Toilet on 310? (2000-2010)

I think all toilets must be vented, but perhaps the vents on the composting toilet are not "neighbor friendly", I don't know. If that were true, of course I would not get it. My problem is that I had a 34 ft catamaran that we lived on for 3 years. The marine toilet was a disaster. Leaked, hoses...

    Composting Toilet on 310? (2000-2010)

You don't remove anything but the toilet, seal off the hoses and mount the composting toilet. Toilet cost about $1000 and installation $500 to $1000. That way, if the next owner wants to go back to the conventional rig, it's quite easy. I realize that many of you do not have background or...

    Composting Toilet on 310? (2000-2010)

Google it if you are really interested. They are $1,000 plus toilets for some higher end boats.

    Composting Toilet on 310? (2000-2010)

I intend to purchase a used 310 cruiser in the Southeast this September. Will I be able to replace the marine toilet with a composting toilet like Nature's Head? I have owned several boats in the past and prefer the composting head.
