In over 30 years of messing with boats, I've never resealed a rubrail.
Replaced the stainless insert on my 10 meter once, but never got to the "shoebox" hull to deck joint.
Are those hull to deck gaps normal?
To be expected?

Just got an opportunity to have a "helper" tomorrow.
Gonna remove/reseal the rubrail, rubrail screws and the hull to deck joint.
Starting aft, don't expect to get it all done in a day.
Thinking about removing the stainless first, then the rubrail then
1) cleaning it all up with the...
Here's an even simpler view:

unknown safety issues - negotiable
unknown operational issues - negotiable

somewhere on the internet i saw that they have piles of dash panels available, lots of exact factory match replacement canvas in all colors for your exact boat, a good selection of replacement cushions and an unlimited supply of brand new/rebuilt Sea Ray SYSTEMS MONITORS that come with a full 5...
Been here on a saltwater canal since 2002 with a boat lift.
Rule #1 - do not do any galvanized lift. Only aluminum
Rule # 2 - if using wood pilings, as most do - make sure they are WRAPPED, as there is an invasive species that will bore holes at the tideline/waterline over time
Rule #3 -...
Highfield FINALLY delivered !
Dealer dropped it off at the local boat ramp, and I ran it to the home dock from there.
Tiller model with 20 HP Tohatsu - WOW very powerful ! Almost seemed a bit squirrely, likely I need to get used to it and I was travelling light.
Totally different from the...
Rebuilt the entire head assembly, all seals, valve, duckbills etc during my 21 years of ownership of my 1983 10 Meter International.
I'm very familiar with the system and love it !
Plan on doing all of this pre-emptively on the 1996 450 DA, but have not gotten to it yet as everything still...
I also removed the port engine belt guard.
Saved all the spacers, ty-wrapp attached to their specific mounting points.
I don't however, trust myself with the starboard guard removed.
Perhaps a few of us could get together and get some made (stainless) exactly as Frank W did for his...
O & M and insurance likely significantly higher than my current 450 DA with CAT 3126 set up.
Could dock behind the house, so no additional expense there.

I did mine in conjunction with installing the floor.
That way there was a tight fit at the base.
I used carpet adhesive, and a clean deadblow mallet.
Great results !

Thats my plan moving forward with the replacement elements.
Problem was previous owners, or alleged mechanics treated those elements like footballs.
They were bent, dented and beat up pretty bad.
In getting these engines closer to baseline, it was time to replace and now properly service...

It's not an advertisement. (see post #3 above)
I saw something similar for a Porsche (no I don't own one) that is no longer in production and thought there were numerous parallels to be drawn across the products in terms of simplicity and reliability.
Getting close to perfection on this 450...
here's a tip:
grab an old, glass eyedropper bottle and keep it full of bleach.
Drop in a couple of squeezes of bleach, then fill the tank using an in-line RV style charcoal water filter.

Don't know what the difference is between ZONE LIMIT DATA and PROP DEMAND CURVE, but my data is very closely aligned with "CURVE 4" as shown above.
