I’ve seen a few posts on this over the years , some say loosen off the mounts and rotate the unit to get access, I suggest search this thread for Westerbeke Impellar
Out of interest when you say wired into generator output, do you mean you wired into an existing generator circuit
Dc to dc setups apparently have a loss factor in terms of lost energy, but only purists care I think
Did you resolve this. On my 400 the primer to starboard is close to the crankcase breather, on port it’s near the forward bulkhead above the fuel filter . I.e searay made sure they are accessible for both engines
thanks all, Shell Rimula is a thing.
As multigrade is now acceptable and as I have a non aftercooler set of 3116s, I reckon multigrade is the way to go for me, with all its fan dangle claims about engine life extending etc. And suddenly the infamous Rotella I read so much about seems to be an...
The oil discussion CAT DEO, SAE etc has been well and truly hammered and were I in the USA I would have all the answers .
Here in Australia for my 3116 the CAT oils are available and are an option I may well chose. But to compare, I wondered what other Australian (and maybe NZ ) owners are...

This is the original post from Bill. There are pics of what is more of a weep hole than a drain. I get water from my port side thru there but not starboard
I finally got to checking the almost secret notches in the cockpit during a spectacular rain storm. The good news is I now know where water has been intruding on the port side, it is indeed the notch . Starboard no water. Did annyone ever work out if the notch was indeed an overflow from the...
