Check the GLOMEX dome to be sure it is connected to the cable, every year when they shrink wrap the boat they remove the dome and break the cable connection. When the shrink wrap is removed they just put the dome back with the cable disconnected.

When I removed my old gasket the channel was filled with water. I noticed that there are no drain holes for any water that gets past the gasket to escape it just lays in the channel. I was wondering if anyone has drilled drain holes in the channel ?

If you are going to "hot wire" the switch, I would place a in-line fuse in the "hot wire circuit" just to be safe.
