This will be my first winter at a different marina and they have given me the option of storing my bravo 2 outdrives indoors after they are serviced for a fee of $120.00 each or to reinstall them on the boat after they are serviced at no charge. I'm not sure of the advantage of indoor storage...

I am replacing our 2000 29' Dancer "ANONYMOUS" that was a "Total Loss" from "Sandy" now I need a referral for Surveyor on Long Island, I have a deposit on a 1999 29' dancer in Huntington. It has been suggested that I have a "Compression Test or Leak Down Test" as part of the Pre-purchase Survey...
Sadly my beloved 29' Dancer named ANONYMOUS was destroyed, the transom storage hatch door with the boats name was also ripped off the boat and disappeared. I have found a replacement used boat that has a personnalized (dumb) name that I want to change. I want to re-name the replacement boat...
Actually the steering is fine, outdrives have minimum gimbal play. The service dept is recommending replacing the u-bolt nuts as a annual maintenance service. I told my brother-in-law not to authorize the service on a set of eight (8) year old u-bolt nuts that will most likely cross thread or...
In a recent conversation with my brother-in-law he asked if I have the gimbal ring u-bolts on my boat changed every season. I assumed he was asking about torquing the gimbal ring u-bolts annually but he said the marina he just moved his boat to recommended that the u-bolts be replaced every...
We can see the filter with a mirror and flashlite but I can't figure out how to access it. So far the only method appears to be removing the hot water heater, sliding the holding tank back into the engine compartment and then changing the filter. The labor estimate is between $500.00 to $750.00...
Check the GLOMEX dome to be sure it is connected to the cable, every year when they shrink wrap the boat they remove the dome and break the cable connection. When the shrink wrap is removed they just put the dome back with the cable disconnected.
There are companies that pump out the old gasoline, polish it (treat the old gas) and then pump it back into the tank. They can also clean the gas tank prior to pumping the gas back into the tank. They have mobile trucks that go on-site and the entire treatment is completed in hours. There is a...
Painting the outdrive is part of the " Annual Outdrive Service", the "painting transom plate " is a separate charge. As it does not appear in any maintenance manual, I assume that it is a "Pad The Bill Charge".
I have twin bravo 2's and just received my annual outdrive service bill and noticed that I'm being charged $160.00 to paint the transom plates. I looked back at my annual service bills and apparently I've been charged every year for this item. I cannot find any mention in the Mercruiser...
I have Mcgard stern drive locks and the props will be sent out to be reconditioned and will not be reinstalled until spring launch. The $130.00 charge does not sound like much but I don't spend money for something I may not need to do.
The marina offers the option of storing outdrives in their service dept building for a fee of $65.00 per drive over the winter. This fee does not include any labor just a storage fee. I can just leave the outdrives on the boat over the winter or pay the $130.00 indoor storage fee. What's your...
When I removed my old gasket the channel was filled with water. I noticed that there are no drain holes for any water that gets past the gasket to escape it just lays in the channel. I was wondering if anyone has drilled drain holes in the channel ?
