Have a bit of experience with 289's and also with Dominion.
Helped a friend buy a 289 equipped just like the one you are looking at - 350/B3 with generator. Great layout and unbelievable use of space. No canvas to deal with (except back curtain) and great to sit at that raised bench sea...
Hopefully a quick question, sorry for the long explanation -
The boat is a 1994 Weekender 300. Not worth a lot - maybe 15K, but it has served us well for 10+ years. However, not having to worry about kids at home has made us start to think that finally selling and moving up to something more...
I went back a little further than normal, January 1, 2017 through today -- but there are 7 reported 2012 450 DB's on soldboats with selling prices from 465K to 600K - specifically 470, 465, 475, 485, 499, 520 and 600. Send me a PM with your e-mail address and I'll send you the line item report...
I did a quick soldboats report and just skimmed it -- the above answers are correct in that actual Yachtworld sale prices mirror the wide range of asking prices. Actual sold 2005 and 2006 320's that closed from Jan 2017 through today range from the 50s' to around 100K. My guesstimate is that...
Running a quick soldboats report for 02 and 03 30 Sundancers sold in the US during 2017 shows 5 03's with sale prices of 50, 45, 47.5, 44 and 33K. 6 02's sold for 55, 59.9, 44.9, 44.5, 44 and 20. The 55 and 59.9 both had 6.2's. Shoot me a PM if you want more detailed info.
Started to type this and got distracted -- sorry if a dupe. I'd suggest calling Marvin at Charm City Marine Canvas (410-971-7189 or www.charmcitymarinecanvas.com). He had a booth across from us at the Baltimore boat show last weekend and I was very impressed with his answers to my...
The problem is that BUC and NADA guides are notoriously inaccurate, and the prices for these years have now dropped to where most are probably sold through Craigslist and related ads. In addition, you are talking about a 30 year old boat and the condition, and therefore value, is going to be...
If I can only make it for one day, I like going for the practice day. Sometimes the routine is a little longer if they repeat some maneuvers a few times and there are usually not nearly as many boats as for the graduation performance the next day -- of course the real determining factor is the...
Mike:
I know the detail was expensive but they did a great job -- even people that I showed it to that weren't interested in exactly that type of boat were blown away when I said it was 15 years old and completely surprised when I explained how this boat could overnight, fish, cruise and just...
My son-in-law is a BPD detective who spent most of the last two days standing in riot gear letting "peaceful protestors" throw bottles, bricks, barricades and other items usually part of free speech, at him -- as the useless mayor legitimizes the actions of these fools. But don't worry, the...
The detailer should be there Monday or Tuesday -- which will leave me time to take some great pictures. Just in case you happen to be in the area check your in-box and spam folder for an e-mail with tickets.
Not sure if it is the correct part -- but Flounder Pounder Marine has a new 30 weekender strut on their website. I forget the price but I know it was less than $790.
the offer still stands for Wednesday morning - so far I don't have anything planned, if you find out you need something, there is a West Marine in Deale, let me know.
Not gonna guess at the time, but I just got hauled today at Herrington Harbor North in Deale -- which is about 5 minutes from Clark's Landing in Shadyside, and I'll probably be heading down to check on the boat tomorrow. If I can pick up anything for you or run an errand just let me know...
Lenny:
The speeds are all from the GPS.
Without a doubt, the first place to look to pickup a few mph would be the props. Other than cleaning and painting them, I haven't messed with these props since I bought the boat 3 years ago. I believe they are the standard issue 16 x 15 3 blade...
Lenny:
my speeds at various rpm's are the following (again, with bimini and side curtains and about 1/4 fuel):
3200 24.6 mph
3350 26.3
3600 28.75
3700 30
These sppeds are in mph (sorry for jumping back between knots and mph).
Back to your initial question/issue...
Lenny:
Let me think it through and I'll post the numbers at various rpm's.
The person who used to own an I/O weekender's name on this board is Kameroo (or something close).
The weekender is larger and heavier (half a foot wider, a foot or two longer and about 1000 to 1500 lbs...
Lenny:
A belated update. wide open today was 36.5mph (I went ahead and switched the gps back to mph). This was 4550rpm on one engine and 4500 on the other. The bottom and props are clean and I had the bimini and side curtains up -- the panel between the windshield and top and the rear...
