Yes, lots of headaches. But the lift is like 20 years old, I'm kind of surprised mine is still on the back of the boat. I'm sure he's heard lots of stories... heck, even someone in this thread left his wife over this lift.
I would say he missed a lot of things. It might be worth hiring another to go through the boat to find everything that's not working so you know what to tackle.
