08/09 330 DA 496Magnum cruising #'s...stern vs Vdrive

im looking at these specific model years, definitely with the 496's.
there really isn't a lot of reviews on these boats for whatever reason.
I did however come across a review that had the 330, with 496's and Vdrives, cruising at 34mph, at 3000rpm burning 30gph.
Does this sound realistic? Every 1 mph/100rpm added about 10gph..so that kind of tempered the awesome sounding numbers. But still, those sound really good. And, what about a sterndrive setup? Judging by the posted Vdrive numbers...the sterndrive should be somewhere around 37mph @3000rpm?
Sounds pretty low to me.
Which is why, I'm asking any owners of one of these setups their actual experience with them.
I was leaning to sterndrive but if that kind of cruising is realistic, I'd reconsider and maybe go V.

V-Drives...NOT happening..No way 34mph at 3000. Here's a for instance. My 340 with 496 and TUNED props does 30mph at 3500 rpm burning 32gph. Without tuned props I was doing 30mph at 3700rpm burning 36gph. The weight is identical.

2009 330 = Dry Weight 15,400 lbs.

2004 340 = Dry Weight 15,500 lbs.

So how do you like the 08 330? Been treating you well?
After a lot of looking around, that model year 330 08-10 I think, is a lot of boat. It's either that or a formula 31PC for us.

I have a 320, vdrive, I get 30mph at 4200 rpm, using around 36gph. I have twin merc 350 horizons. Props are not tuned, no new bottom paint, etc.
