I have a 1978 SRV 195 with the 250 in line 6, closed bow. The fuel tank is in the bow. When my fuel tank (30 Gal) is down 8-15 gallons, the engine starts bogging at higher rpms, like its starving for fuel. Im positive a vacuum in the fuel tank is being created but the vent appears to be clear. The vacuum was so strong on one occasion the filler hose collapsed and it would not take fuel. Occasionally I'll hear a hissing sound from the fuel tank area that sounds like the tank sucking or expelling air. The vent hose and connection is not accessible but can be seen from the anchor locker hatch. Ive installed a new in line fuel filter and cleaned the vent screen with a wire brush but the problem persists. Thanks for any suggestions.
