Hello everyone, new to the forum, 1st question!
Bought a restoration project, 1978 240 with twin 470s. The fuel lines from the gas tank to the engines are cut off, almost like something was there and salvaged. Is the gas connection direct, or am I being paranoid? LOL A picture or 3 if you have an original setup would be great TY

You should have a filter/water separator between your tank and the engines.
You may want to pressure test the tank before going too far with it. It is not uncommon for older tanks to have corrosion issues.
Welcome to the CSR.

I have a 77 240 Weekender with twin 470's and has two fuel lines coming from the tank. The bad thing is there are no fuel filters except at the fuel pumps, bad idea. I haven't had it out on a good run yet been working on it for a couple years now bringing it back to original. I think I would for sure check the tank for any leaks there is a reason the lines were cut off. I plan on installing filters on each line before doing any real boating just have to figure out good location to mount them not alot of space there.
