I just bought this boat and it surveyed great. Can anyone give me some items to watch for or tips on care and maintenance?

Here are some pictures.

The boat is a 1987 300DB it has the original twin Mercruiser 260's with 590 hours, a Generator, Heating & Air Conditioning, vacuflush toilet, built in vacuum cleaner and original depth sounders and clean enough for my wife to say it is very nice. I just bought it yesterday so the survey is not typed up yet but hull is dry and sound, all systems work well and the engines have great compression. It has a leaky water pump on the genset, and could use a new raw water hose for the fresh water cooling, exhaust hose and spark plug wires on the port engine (surface cracking). I'm having those items replaced today, on both engines and having the water pump replaced.

The only thing I really want to get updated ASAP is the GPS/Sonar, any tips?

Looks like a nice boat - welcome to the neighborhood, I'm sure you will have fun.
Are you boating out of Everett?

Hey that looks just like mine!!!

PM me your email address and I can send you the wiring schematics for your boat...........

mmm I may need a few parts.....:wow:

Welcome!! Oh and check your wallet, it will becoming a little thinner.

i really like the 30 ft searays ....almost bought one before we got our boat. The 80's were great years for SeaRay!

Here is a picture with me and my TWO boats (1987 Sea Ray 300DB and 2010 Glastron GS 249) sitting in their TWO slips.... ugh. :smt089

And a picture of the Sea Ray at its first yacht club cruise.

I like the canvas over the back. The Admiral and I were thinking of doing the same thing. Can you "fold" it up when the PNW gets its 2 days of summer?
