Looking at a 89 340 What type of cooling system will this boat have. Completely fresh water from the bay or a fresh water and antifreeze closed system combo. Was there an option in that year. Twin 7.4,s. shaft drive Mercruisers. Any help is always good.

It could be either or. Open the hatch. If there's a reservoir tank right on top then it's closed cooling. If not its open cooling drawing water directly from the lake.

If you have a tank like this aft of the engines, it's closed cooling.
