I haven't seen to many new installs for new electronics on the 1993 370 sundancer so I thought I would post mine. I am upgrading my old electronics from the Raytheon SL70 radar with radome, the Garmin GPS 230, and an old Garmin fish finder. Also while doing so I will be upgrading my stereo. I wanted a unit that would integrate everything in to one unit. Simrad GO9 XSE with radar and total scan was the unit to do the job. I am also using the Fusion MS-BB300 with remote to integrate through NMEA2000 network. All my speakers were shot as well so I bought 2 pair of infinity marine speakers, 6.5 inch, and 1 set of 6x9 infinity marine speakers. I will also be installing SiriusXM satellite radio as this is important to me while on the lake with limited radio options. The wired fusion remote on the NMEA2000 network was important as it has a rotary know that will allow me to turn up or down the volume on the stereo.

My boat is stored an hour and a half away so install will be in several pieces. I also have to wait to install my new radome when I am just about ready to put the boat in at the beginning of April. It is currently shrink wrapped over the old radar unit. I have removed the old electronics displays. I had to buy a new piece of plastic to cut new holes in where the old electronics sat. I bought a piece of black seaboard from US plastics. I have cut the new piece into the trapezoid shape and it turned out really well. Next I had to cut the new holes for the new Simrad display unit as well as the fusion wired remote. I will keep this thread updated as I continue to work on this. But so far in the early phase things are turning out really well.

Did you cut the replacement panel or ordered, look forward to installed pic
thinking of doing the same thing but still debating going with the NSS9

I cut it myself. Was a little hesitant to do it myself, but it turned out really well. I used a circular saw with a plastic blade from Home Depot for $6. Then I used a jig saw to cut the holes.

Also, I chose the GO9 because I knew I could run the wired remote for my controls. Plus the price point on the Go9 was so much better. I was able to buy new radar and the unit for the same price. Plus I may add additional fusion wired remotes as separate displays for depth, heading, speed, etc...if the boss lets me spend more money. As far as I can tell the only difference in the two is the hard controls i.e. The hard push buttons and scroll knobs. I decided that most of the time the only thing I adjust enroute is the stereo. For the most part I don't adjust from a sonar and maps split screen. So this made the most sense for me. The NSS is a sweet unit though.

I am buying the GO9 and also the 4G radar in a month or so also.
My idea is to also run one of the IS35 units at the helm and tie in the engine viewer. Which transuder are you going to use? I won't use that transducer that comes with the bundle.
If you aren't familiar with Fox-Marine.com check out these little boxes that allow you to also monitor engine data, optimum fuel cruising and rpm and temp etc. I think I will tie my radio in also and I too want a helm control. I feel the ability to hit MUTE quickly is important when coming in to a dock or an on water situation is coming to a head. Which mount are you going to use for your radar? a small degree rise?

I plan on using the total scan transducer that comes with it unless someone can give me a reason not to? I would definitely like to use a thru-hull transducer but the ones I found were ridiculously priced. The ability to mute was also super important to me. I did not realize that I needed a specific mount for the radar? I did not investigate this prior to shrink wrapping the boat. I have a radar arch. Will this not work?

I am getting the part number off of my old transducer now. I have been in touch with the factory to see if the NMEA 2000 one will fit in its place. What I was told by a few guys is the transom transducer will not see anything through the wash of my inboards. I will lose depth when running.... I am more than a little concerned about using that one and will probably replace my thru hull with a newer one.
The arch when cruising generally requires a few degree wedge so that the radar is "seeing level", from the experts, I am not one.

Other people have said that the higher mounts give you better distance..... look at this one too

Awesome. Thanks for the info. I think I'm gonna roll the dice on the transducer and I think my old radar has a wedge already, but I may look at raising it six inches. My only concern about raising it is I already have som antenna clearance issues for a bridge I go under. Also...let me know what you find on a replacement transducer for thruhull.

Sounds good. I think I already have a slight angle on my current dome.

I believe I have a slight angle mount on my current radar that I will try and reuse. I'll have to look.

Not to take away from my original thread, but anyone else on here have any suggestions on the best place to buy a refrigerator that would be the same size as the current ice maker behind the helm? It's shot and I don't need to make ice.

So I got a little more pre-install done. Both units are screwed down to the new piece of cut seaboard from U.S. plastics and I installed the USB and 3.5mm plug. Additionally everything else has arrived. We are having a warm snap this weekend (60 degrees and sunny) so I am considering going up and installing the unit, transducer, and all my new speakers....as long as the wife lets me out of the house for the day. I also will be installing new zincs on my transom, propeller shafts, and trim tabs. I have sold the old stuff tentatively. I figure the radar can be the very last piece of the puzzle when the shrink wrap is removed. I also have to put in about 6-8 new ETA circuit breaker switches. Those showed up yesterday as well. I'm getting excited.

Well I made some progress. A buddy and I spent about 5 hours working on the install today. We got the new zincs installed, speakers installed, the fusion with XM wired to power and all the speakers wired up, installed 7 new ETA circuit breaker type switches to replace old broken ones, installed the NMEA 2000 back bone. All that's let is power to the GO9XSE, the new radar dome, the new transducer, and the new XM antenna. A couple more hours of work. Unfortunately the batteries were dead today so I didn't even get to fire it up, but the install does look nice. Just have a few loose ends to tie up.

Looks good. I just purchased the JL Audio MM100S, it is N2K complain and I want to run it on the GO9 Simrad unit as well.
Too make the cock pit rock I bought the JL audio 10 inch sub and also the M700/5 to power my 4 6.5 inch JL speakers and the sub. My install will take a few separate weekends also. I will try o post pics as well.

Awesome! I will look forward to seeing your install.

I am still considering my options on my transducer. I think I am going to use the transom mount transducer, just makes me a little nervous cutting a rather large hole through my transom.

Also, I believe I will need a mount for my radome. Probably going to order a 6 inch rise. Would like a little less cus I'd still like to go under a bridge we usually go through. Saves about a 15 minute put out if I can clear that bridge.

So I plan on going with a Airmar B150M Thru-Hull Transducer 20 degree. I Already have a hole from the old transducer in the hull, so it makes most sense to pull out the other and reuse the hole. Gotta find it for cheap now.

Not a big update, but ordered my thru-hull transducer. If anyone is looking for a navico totalscan transon mount transducer I'd sell it for $250. Brand new never used. Monday I'll get almost everything done. Maybe even install of the radome.

Got more done today. Wired in my two fusion zone amps. One for the cabin and one for the 6x9's. the stereo sounds great. I installed my Navionics hot maps chip as well. I have great GPS signal with the internal antenna. Didn't get as much done in 7 hours as I had hoped. But here are some pictures of the install. Still have the radome, transducer, and XM antenna to go. But everything works great so far.

Congratulations, I've also upgraded my electronics to the Go9 XSE plus 3G radar and I'm very happy with the result. Pictures Later!
