Can anyone tell me how to remove the radar display on my boat? The install manual references a flush mount flange, that has four screw accessible from the front. This install does not have any screws visible from the front. It doesn't look like Sea Ray used the factory flange? How would I access this from the rear?

Furuno is most likely no a factory install. You might try prying gently, it might just caulked in place.

It's factory, but I hear you. I just can't believe they would just caulk it in place...

Take the panel off at the dash where the electronics are and look behind the radar. It's possible there are hand screws on both sides. From my recollection that's how my Raytheon was secured.

Yes, Raytheon gear was through-bolted from behind. I freed them by reaching behind the switch panel and through the hole for the aux VHF speaker and cupholders.

Just to update this, I am in the middle of upgrading the old 1942 radar with a color tft Furuno that is newer and larger. The old display was caulked in place but also had two large knobs holding the unit onto brackets on the backside of the dash. The knobs are accessed by reaching through the cupholder cutout on the left (when facingthe display) and the right hand knob is accesible when unscrewing the panel that holds the smaller displays in front of the wheel.

Furuno didn't do factory installs for Sea Ray in the late 90's. The chances are the boast was spec'd with a B&G network system and the B&G had a really good installer named Phil Basket. He also installed Furunl bottom machines and Fruno Radar units with the B&G tridata, VHF, autopilots, and other B&G units specified by Sea Ray, you or the original purchaser or the dealer who ordered the boat.

Looks like you may have already figured out the Radar puzzle, but if it comes up again on other Furuno equipment you are replacing, look at thair installation manual which the B&G guys followed closely.

Yep, you are spot on as usual Frank, they used some custom brackets, but the B&G and Furuno combo is what I have. The B&G autopilot works with my Garmin 0183 signal output and the new Furuno display unit I am just using as radar and video unyil I can find a chart for my Lake. Huge improvement over the old CRT style display to a color TFT.
