2000 7.4 Horizon rattle in tranny in neutral at idle

    Noise comes from tolerances which may or not be related to wear. All it would take is a few high rpm shifts or prop strikes to get a damper plate to make that noise. In any event....it is nothing to worry about unless it starts rattling like rocks in a metal garbage can at any rpm.;)

    Don't think, know. You can't adjust the idle on a properly working MAG MPI Horizon Gen VI. The ECM does it for you.
    with the linkage, you can mess with the forward gear idle speed to get close, but the ECM will keep trying to override you.
    Carb engine, different story. Get Service Manual 23, and only pay attention to the MIE Horizon entries.
